How does James Toney from the Holyfield fight do against Rocky Marciano and Sam McVea at heavyweight? I think he might actually have a chance against Marciano on the inside i could see Toney countering Marciano and slipping a lot of Marcianos punches but i think Marciano would have his moments. I see Toney winning a close 12 round decision in a war. How does he do against Sam McVea?
Toney loses round here to Jimmy Wilde, never mind Fireman Sam Double Big McVeal-Sandwich with extra cheese
He'd lose a UD to Marciano on workrate while winning some rounds. His durability is far more proven than Moore/Charles/Walcott I think he beats McVea by UD, he's a more skilled boxer
He'd do quite well early against Marciano, but ultimately takes a bad beating. He should beat McVey, boxing evolution and what not.
Takes a bad beating against Marciano, probably getting stopped over 15. Over 12 and he lasts the distance, winning a couple of rounds.
I think that he looses to them both. Marciano was arguably the all time master of breaking down technical boxers. Toney would have some sucess, but would ultimately be outworked. He would have a better chance against Sam McVea, but would probably loose in a competitive fight. McVea was much better than Sam Peter for example.
Toneys feet will see him in too much danger against The Rock. He'll slip and counter some, but will get overwhelmed in the end, losing a wide 15 round points decision. He'd do the better work against McVea.
