This fight will be awful, neither guy has the stamina left for any sort of decent punch output. And Jones has lost the edge on his speed and reflexes that he needs. Hopkins will win it with a few clean good shots every round.
for anyone that says this fight will be boring, remember the fact that it is still roy vs bernard.the atmosphere and the combatants will make the fight.that's if it goes down
For all of Hopkins pedigree and accomplishments, the one thing he hasn't proved he could handle and actually struggled with throughout his career is speed. Roy is still one of the fastest fighters around. If the ref does his job and doesn't let Hopkins spoiling tactics be a main factor in the fight, then Roy wins a UD again. Roy was awesome last time out, even though he only fought in spurts. That's all he will need to beat this version of Hopkins in a fair fight.
WTF man? Hopkins is the one who stopped this fight from happening earlier. He's the one who needed the rematch for his legacy but always ruined it by demanding the lion's share, even though Roy was and always has been the bigger draw. Anyway, this fight is signed, on Roy's end anyway. They asked Roy if he was overlooking Danny Green by having signed to fight Hopkins, and he said he had to sign straight away when he had the opportunity because with Hopkins it's been impossible to get him in the ring. Let's hope Hopkins doesn't pull out of this one like he did against Calzaghe in the early 2000's. His fans are in for a shock when Roy totally outclasses him again, this time with both hands.
Honestly i think RJJ beats him again..his style is Hopkins foil....ive always said speed, activity, and good combinations are Hopkins worst enemy especially when you neutralize his right hand .
i honestly think RJJ's style is hopkins kryptonite. RJJ has shown he is still fast and still has a huge arsenal of punches that he can thrown at rapid speed from all angles. RJJ needs to fight a conventional fight, he isn't going against lacy or sheika where he could get away with that. but who knows?? RJJ has a history of doing the impossible.
Roy Jones beat Hopkins in the first fight both technically and athletically. It was a masterpiece on all levels. Hopkins was as fast as Jones and was hitting him in the face, it was a close fight and Jones did not have any physical advantage beyond his speed and even there Hopkins was keeping up with him. I think Roy Jones Jr's technical abilities are underrated. I think Bernard Hopkin's athleticism is underrated. I think if Roy were in his prime then yeah he was untouchable but now they are physically equals again and it's as even a fight as the first fight was. Anybody can win and it all depends on who shows up that night. Roy Jones will not be knocking Bernard Hopkins out and Bernard Hopkins will not be knocking Roy Jones out. It's going to be just like the first fight, only better because both guys will be getting hit more.
