In my opinion if he boxes like he did vs Parker wilder will catch him with a right hand at some point and finish him off. His jab isn't powerful enough and there was nothing coming behind it. Wilder is difficult to counter because he is so long and when he opens up he just throws a million power shots like a ****** which is hard to defend against let alone counter. In my opinion Joshua needs to go on the attack, early and often. Wilder usually starts slow, and is defensivley poor as well as low volume on the back foot. No waiting around imo, he needs to put attacks together like the one that dropped klitschko the first time, but early and with a little more composure to preserve stamina. Eddie also needs to be on the ref to not let wilder hold if he gets hurt. Weight needs to be in between the parker and klitschko fights. Imo Joshua finishes it within 5 rounds or Wilder is taking the belts.
Mate im with you, Joshua to knock him out in 3-5 rounds. Im a fan of both men but im with Joshua all the way on this one. I will think it will be a real fight you know what i mean like you said bro no waiting around...Joshua will be getting Wilder to throw them bombs then land a big one himself and put Deontay to sleep!
I found this out yesterday..... FYI: Wilder is 6'7 and 83" reach AJ is 6'6 and 82" reach Wilders frame is throwing people off but there is very little in it Wilder is there to be countered as others have shown in the past and I think AJ and mckraken will have the perfect game plan
Joshua’s jab is excellent. He needs to do what he’s done in his last 2 fights and box behind it and resist the urge to throw with Wilder or he will get sparked clean out. Joshua is the superior boxer without a doubt, but Wilder only needs one shot to turn the fight on its head.
If it was Joshua on the end of the punches and not Ortiz then Wilder is saying good night. Not just that wilder drops rounds for fun whereas AJ collects them for fun. AJ can box how he did against Parker and comfortably win on the cards. Will Wilder swing so wildly with the chance of getting out to sleep? I think he will be more cautious. I think it’s 70-30 AJs favour.
Personally mate I thought his jab vs Parker was too flimsy, look at parkers face at the end of the fight he wasn't marked up. It's not an energy sapper like wlads jab for instance. It worked vs Parker but i would not be confident it would against Wilder
it's all about judging the distance against someone like wilder and AJ learnt all about that against klitschko
I don't think AJ can win this fight and this is why Hearn has been reluctant to make it happen. And why we got this selling belts and selling one's soul to the devil talk. A) Wilder takes a punch better than Joshua and has a better jab, better movement and can actually knock you out on the backfoot. B) Wilder has much better footwork and athleticism to get out of the way of attacks whilst countering with the right hand C) If Joshua loses bulk like he did against Parker, he loses the power and then depends on a points win, where if he bulks up and aims to take out Wilder in 3-5 rounds he becomes a stiff who will completely gas after 6 rounds and Wilder will not give him any time to find a second wind D) Wilder only needs one punch to end his opponent leaving them completely unconscious. He's the hardest hitter in the Heavyweight without question which has been confirmed by sparring partners of both fighters. Joshua needs a rally of punches and a bit of help from the ref to wave the fight off prematurely before his opponent is completely stopped. I'm actually goin to bet big money on WIlder if the fight is taking place in the uk, as it is clear AJ will be favourite since most of the casuals believe Wilder is this overrated American who can't take a punch. So it will be easy money.
For AJ to beat Wilder he has to stick to a gameplan and it goes without saying it has to be the right tactics, and commitment to them is vital. I would get behind the jab and put a lot into ths first half, pretty much as has already been stated. Things like moving left and been defensivly aware at all times are little pointers AJ will have to stick to. For the record i think wilder is going to beat Aj.
The height and strength will matter. That's the big thing here. Wilder will meet his match. Wilder is used to having it his own way, he controls his opponents because he is an equal with them in terms of physicality most of the time. But he isn't an equal in physicality to AJ, nobody is equal in strength to him. AJ will not just win against Wilder, he will bully him and beat him up, because he is so much more physically stronger than him. The thing AJ has to avoid is putting his hands up and guarding against Wilder. It's proven, time and time again. High guards are Wilder's easiest opposition. As silly as it may seem, defense doesn't play a part in this fight for AJ. If he puts a high guard up, Wilder can setup the right hand with jab, it's his main weapon. It's hard to avoid for AJ, cause he doesn't have the head movement or footwork required. So, the key is to take punishment from Wilder, which will open up spaces for counter-attacks. He needs to leave his hands down at normal height, bait Wilder in, and then counter brutally. Once he has countered, he can make it dirty and ugly, go to war. And once he has managed to make it dirty and ugly, there's only one winner if he can keep the pressure up on Wilder. Wilder won't deal with the physicality and relentless pressure. Also, Joshua will use his physicality to hug Wilder when things get shaky for him. That is how Joshua wins.
Its so easy to smell a biased silly post and tbh mate thats what the general forum is here for. We are trying to have a serious discussion here and none of us is going to rise to this kind of childishness
Nothing biased about the post, just about the advantages one fighter has over the other. You want to take about bias and childishness, weren't you the one calling out posters for having black fighters in their avatar you racist piece trash?
I'm very split over this fight. Wilder has the speed, reach and without doubt the power to put AJ away. AJ is definitely stronger, heavier, more consistent and if he has Wilder on the end of one of his barrages he will very likely put him away. A key aspect of this fight may be discipline, where I would definitely favour AJ. Wilder has gotten away with murder in a few of his last fights where if he was in there with AJ, he would not have been so lucky. On contrary Parker was able to keep out AJs road albeit mainly because he was not committing to his punches. Against Takam he was slightly limited to what he could do. AJ is not overly quick where I can see Wilder causing problems. Let's see how things develop.
