Usyk is SIGNIFICANTLY better than Povetin! Why? Because he has SIGNIFICANTLY better footwork, faster footwork, better angles, better punch variation, better punch selection, better stamina, higher output, better feints, better jab and etc. Need I go on?

Usyk makes Povetkin look like an old bum. There are only a very few areas, if any, where Povetkin outperforms Usyk.

If 6'4 Parker with is 75 inch reach who has a terrible gas tank can do that, then 6'3 Usyk with his 78 inch reach who has an exemplary gas tank can and will do far far better.

Joshua doesn't need to outbox Usyk.

Usyk literally poses no threat of a knockout to Joshua.

Joshua can walk through his shots and finish him off with one of his flurries.

But let's keep things in perspective. Joshua only stopped Povetkin because he was a shot, 39 year old fighter without any stamina left to fight at a high intensity for 12 rounds at the elite level. And he also had decreased durability at age 39 from the accumulation of all the damage he took throughout his 2 decade of doing boxing / kickboxing (amateur and pro). And Joshua exploited that flaw of Povetkin by taking him out after Povetkin gassed.

Now Usyk isn't comparable to Povetkin in terms of Joshua's chances at stopping Usyk. Since for 1, he isn't 39 years old like Povetkin was. And 2, his durability and stamina aren't shot as Povetkin's were at age 39. In terms of stamina and durability, Usyk is closer to Joseph Parker than he is to Alexander Povetkin. And we all saw how multiple of Joshua's maximum powered flush punches had virtually no affects on Parker. And Parker didn't have stamina problems as Povetkin did because he wasn't a shot 39 year old fighter , but was rather in his physical prime. Due to that, Joshua couldn't stop Parker, because there wasn't any stamina exploitable weakness.

Usyk is arguably even more durable and has FAR better stamina than Parker. Usyk has faced multiple power punchers, even back to back, in the pros and amateurs, and is still yet to even be stopped once. I also don't ever remember Usyk getting dropped from a head shot. So Usyk's chin is FAR MORE PROVEN and TESTED than Parker's.

And Usyk fights at a FAR HIGHER intensity and has a FAR HIGHER punch output / volume than Parker. Meaning, his stamina is FAR MORE PROVEN.

Ergo, if Joshua couldn't even drop, never mind stop Parker, then his chances of doing the same to Usyk would be even lower.

And those of you making the argument about Povetkin's power being a factor in his ability to win rounds against Joshua because Joshua was forced to respect Povetkin's power. Let's get one thing straight! If we compare Usyk's last 4 fights to Povetkin's last 4 fights, then we'll know objectively, that Povetkin's power was no more proven to be better than Usyk's power.

Povetkin failed to even get a single knockdown in 24 rounds in 2 back to back fights against 2 journeymen in Andriy Rudenko and Christian Hammer. Let's not forget that Hammer has already been stopped my Tyson Fury and Mariusz Wach. Proving he has a weak chin. Yet, Povetkin still struggled to even hurt Hammer with his punches. Also, Povetkin stopping David Price doesn't prove much either. Since Price has a known glass chin / jaw, and was stopped by journeyman Erken Tepper in his past fight in far more brutal fashion and in far quicker time. Even Usyk would've arguably brutalized Price too.

Now Usyk on the other hand, faced 4 superior opponents. He faced Michael Hunter, Marco Huck, Mairis Breidis and Murat Gassiev.

Usyk dropped Michael Hunter and should've arguably won by stoppage. He's better than both Hammer and Rudenko that Povetkin failed to even drop.

Usyk stopped Marco Huck in a lopsided fight, who is also better than Hammer and Rudenko. The same Huck who gave Povetkin life and death experiences.

Oleksandr Usyk couldn't stop Mairis Breidis and Murat Gassiev. But both guys are known to be EXTREMELY durable. Plus, they also hit harder and are more skilled than the 2 guys Povetkin couldn't even drop in Christian Hammer and Andriy Rudenko. So being unable to stop Gassiev and Breidis, isn't anywhere near as bad as being unable to stop Hammer and Rudenko.

So where is the evidence of current Povetkin's mythical 'DEVASTATING' punching power which Joshua should have been afraid of? I made threads before the fight, proving and explaining how Povetkin's punching power posed very little threat to Anthony Joshua. Most individuals shrugged off those proofs and explanations, and wanted to believe the contrary. But it was me who was proven to be right, once again.

If Usyk fails to stop elite level opponents with very high durability like Mairis Breidis and Murat Gassiev, then somehow it proves Usyk is a feather fist?

Yet, when Povetkin is unable to even deter / budge / score a single knockdown in 24 rounds against much inferior opponents that are journeymen level like Christian Hammer and Andriy Rudenko, we are to believe he is still this devastating puncher that poses a bigger threat to Joshua than Usyk does, because of his mythical punching power? When there's no real proof from his last 4 fights that his power is any more dangerous than that of Usyk's?

Incredible motor skills and efficiency. 15 sparring rounds with different rivals is no problem for him. He fights very wisely using his left-handedness. He is a natural left-hander with an excellent right hand that sets opponents. It moves brilliantly, it feels perfectly at a distance. He is better at counter-attacking, but he can also successfully attack. And he's patient, he's in no hurry, he's doing his thing.

But Briedis is very strong, he beats heavily.

That's right, that's why it will be an interesting, exciting fight. Only that Briedis can not stand the pace of Usyka, the intensity of the duel. In his second phase he will weaken from the ore to the round and will eventually lose before time.

In the clash of two world champions, this can not be ruled out, although I think that the fight will end with a Ukrainian win. Usyk has slightly better conditions than Briedis.

MATEUSZ MASTERNAK: I'm probably too old to get excited about such statements. Yes, I went to the ring not to jump for three rounds and to return to the hotel for dinner. In this way, I would not be prepared for my own duel.

A Ukrainian is as good as it is commonly believed?

Mateusz Masternak: It's better than I thought. Perfectly trained technically, damned intelligent, has a great sense of distance, leg work. It is difficult to find an element which would be unfinished. He is a real champion and if he is ready mentally, because he is physically for sure, then in the cruiser category he will win with everyone.

Others say, however, that in sparring you can not get to know the boxer well, and his skill is verified only by the fight.

Mateusz Masternak: I think that talk does not make sense. If someone knows about boxing, they quickly get to know who they're paired with. Of course, sometimes a boxer is focused on grinding one element of the fight, perhaps uncomfortable for himself. And although you win, he consistently concentrates on this element. However, after all, you find out what this boxer represents. Usyk was different. Once he focused on a very large number of loose blows, other sparrings were more forceful. A good boxer does not go below a certain level. And even if he is tired, he does not have his day, he can not hurt himself.

How much do you miss from the level of Usyka?

Mateusz Masternak: Assuming that Oleksandr will win the World Boxing Super Series tournament and go to the heavy category - and I think this will happen, I will be able to take on the challenge of cruiser scales. And I think that you will not have to put me in a lost position.

Harsh can he deal with Briedis?

Mateusz Masternak: Mairis came to Warsaw three or four times, we parried before my fights. He is a good boxer. He can hit hard, he is physically strong, but he is a completely different player than Usyk. Oleksandr is left-handed, taller, faster and more cunning. His boxing IQ is higher. If I had to choose a rival for myself, it would be him Briedis. His fighting style, size and technique would make it boxing easier with him.

And who will pick up the IBF and WBA belts next Saturday in Sochi, up to the WBSS final: Murat Gassijew or Yunier Dorticos?

Mateusz Masternak: This is an exciting encounter. Both boxes are technically, but they are more likely to put on fists. A great fight is being prepared, but it seems to me that Gassijew can break the Cuban in the second phase of the fight. He is better in defense, he can hit hard, and in the skirmish with Denis Lebedev he proved that he can take a blow and withstand the high intensity of the duel for 12 rounds. On the other hand, one right Dorticos and Dmitri Kudriaszov were quickly knocked out. For me, the minimal favorite is Gassijew.

Luis likes to complain about Povetkin being undersized. Povetkin could easily make cruiserweight, it's his own choice to fight at heavyweight, likewise with Usyk.

Oleksandr Usyk is not only SIGNIFICANTLY / ASTRONOMICALLY more skilled than Carlos Takam. But he also has FAR GREATER stamina and output. Meaning, Povetkin can't rely on Usyk getting tired to KO him, like he was able to against the guy with poor stamina in Carlos Takam.

Do you even want to get started on the Marco Huck fight or the Ruslan Chagaev fight? Usyk is again, better than both those guys in terms of skills by a SIGNIFICANT margin. If Povetkin BARELY beat a past-prime Chagaev by decision, then what do you think a far more skilled Usyk in his prime would do to Povetkin?

Wasn't Takam a late replacement opponent? Povetkin wasn't in his prime when he beat Takam. Anyone who has watched boxing at least a little bit knows that how fighter A on one night does against fighter B, has no bearing on how fighter A would do against fighter C. I'm not doubting Usyk, he's a talent, I'm just saying he hasn't done a damn thing at heavyweight for all this blind speculation.

That's pretty insulting how u are talking about Povetkin. calling him "inferior" 39 year old "shot" fighter. He looked fast, and powerful. he just didn't have the stamina to go all 12 rounds. Usyk however, can go all 12 rounds with Joshua, and not get caught. he has that stamina. he can definitely get the 12 round UD

Not from what I know! Takam was a replacement for Anthony Joshua though.

But the point I'm making, is that styles make fights and skills pay bills. Logic dictates that if boxer A struggles against an inferior skilled boxer, then he will struggle even more against a superior skilled boxer. This is just common sense!

You can't tell me Povetkin would do any better against Usyk, than how he performed against inferior skilled boxers in Carlos Takam and Ruslan Chagaev.

Povetkin was in his prime against Takam. Not sure what other 'prime' period you're referring to about Povetkin.

I'm sorry for not being a TOTAL fanatic / fanboy, who non-stop sings the praises of those boxers, in regards to everything they do, every action they perform and every move they make.

Constructive criticism is not hatred! The fact that I'm not praising them every second (like the way you perhaps do), doesn't mean I'm 'hating'.

I'm providing constructive criticism where the criticism is warranted.

Yes, I did! I also saw a headbutt / head clash which caused that damage on Povetkin's face. Therefore, that damage is totally irrelevant in regards to Joshua's struggles with anything boxing related (head clashes / headbutts are not within the rules of boxing that warrants any credit).
