Hopkins knew that if he did not keep a faster tempo than Pavlik than he would end up like the rest of Pavliks opponents who would find themselves caught up against the ropes and than hit with a right hand so Hopkins out worked Pavlik and won. It doesn't get much more common sense than that.

Hopkins' performance helps Calzaghe's standing considerably, IMO. He beat the guy who put on a clinic last night.

Hey Pretty, you need to visit this site:

    http://www.twopair.com/

    Then re-watch Calzaghe-Hopkins.

Every time Bernard tried to flurry with Joe, he got driven backwards.

Even in round 1, Joe was the agressor, before the KD and AFTER the KD as well.

Bernard won three rounds, four at most.

    American location.

    American Ref.

    Three American judges.

    American judge scores:

    9-3
    8-4
    6-6 (The lady with the T H I I I I I C K Glasses !)

You're a sore and sorry loser, dude.

Joe didn't limit Bernard 's punch out-put, Bernard did ?

Maybe Bernard didn't want to win the fight ?

Hell, Bernard probably just threw the fight.

Absolutely correct. Just as Hopkins had everything to do with Pavlik looking bad, Calzaghe had everything to do with Hopkins not throwing punches. BH did not want to expose himself to Joe's shots. Ask Roy Jones how many punches Joe throws, he'll be happy to tell you.

Calzaghe ate Hopkins up like Pac Man as their fight wore on. It was a battle of two vastly different styles, and in the end, Joe's unrelenting pressure attack got the better of the old master's caginess.

What Hopkins did last night to Pavlik is a small reminder of just how good Calzaghe is. Hopkins made Pavlik look like a chump, and Calzaghe in turn had Hopkins so timid and concerned about throwing that Hopkins was looking for freebies like 'low blow' rests.

Joe is on an entirely different level than Pavlik and Hopkins. Bernard is much closer to Joe's level, but he's still not there. Perhaps in their primes it would be a different story, but I'm not convinced that's the case. And don't forget, Joe moved up in weight for the fight. Hopkins has several inches on JC and he came into the ring at 180 last night. Still, natural SMW Joe beat him at 173.

It proves that Calzaghe and Bhop are both all time greats; when these two all time greats met at a similar point in their career, Calzaghe won.

PICS OR FOREVER SHUT THE **** UP. SHOW ME A CALZAGHE HIGHLIGHT OF THAT FIGHT. SHOW ME THESE LANDED PUNCHES IN THE EXCHANGE. BHOP WAS GOING BACK BUT HE WAS NOT GETTING HIT. I AM STILL WAITING FOR ONE OF YOU MOTHER****ERS TO SHOW ME IN A VIDEO CLIP< THE FIGHT I mean ****ing anything. Just show me something. Every replay of the fight shows how much Calzaghe did not land **** whilst he was the aggressor. You need effective aggression. That means landing punches.

    You make such good points.

And you use the facts to argue so convincingly.

As Ali asked big George: Is that all you got ?

If you've watched the fight and STILL can't see that Calzaghe was the effective aggressor, and landed twice as many punches as Bernard, then I can't hel you.

    And neither can http://www.twopair.com/ !

If Joe was such a pushover, Why didn't Bernard just walk through him and do to him what he did to the much inferior Kelly last night ?

Maybe your eyesight is fine. Sometimes we see what we WANT to see.

I, along with majority of everybody else KNOWS by actually watching the fight. That Calzaghe did not land ****. He got credit for missed punches b/c he threw in bunches. Just like with the Manfredo stoppage. Out of the 10-15 punches he threw he LANDED 0. WhenI rewatched the fight and looked at the round punch count..lol that **** did not match what the **** I was seeing. I think you need to get that euro garbage goggles checked.
