To my mind Nistor is the closest HW I've seen to Marciano in recent years, and he already holds a KO win over Joshua and close fight with Usyk so he's not totally useless. Only fought in amateurs and WBS (5 rounds) till recently, so there's a question mark over his stamina through fifteen rounds, but he looks to have a tremendous engine and a great heart.

How do we see him doing against the likes of Walcott, Charles, Moore and co? And more importantly what would his US name be if he fought in the 1950s?

Picks up his first loss against LaStarza, not sure how the career goes after that

His US name would be Mike Nash

He's good, underrated actually. That said, Charles schools him, Walcott baffles him and stops him whilst Moore comprehensively beats the **** outta him.

There's a difference between beating a green Joshua, who's amateur background is more hype and home-cooking than actual achievements, and running a green Usyk close over 3/5 rounds than beating Charles, Moore and Walcott.

I think his five years' worth of WSB fights need to be taken into consideration here, especially considering the competition he was up against in that time.

    He's far from a novice.

Yeah, he looks to have really let himself go of late. I'm more basing his chances from his WSB performances.

Nistor went pro he's 2-0. He was just above .500 in the world series of boxing and just good enough to qualify for the Olympics. He's not dynamic enough on offense of defense to go far a a pro, but he's a pressure fighter than can take a punch and expose the weak bodied.

At 5'11" with a 69 1/2" reach he'd fit tight in. I suspect Walcott would out box him. Charles if he didn't go to war would win on points. He'd KO Layne.

As for his professional name in the 50's, Michael ( Mihai = Michael in English ) Nelson sounds American enough. Or how about the Count of the Ring.
