When Floyd Vs Shane was announced everyone seemed to be pretty hyped up off the Nazim Richardson factor. Then when shane lost all the hype died down and wasn't mentioned going into the fight with sergio mora. Would Nazim Better Shanes Chances vs Pacman?
I dont think so. Nazim provides an indepth analysis of the opponents and gives a mental boost to his own fighters. But theres no doubt in my mind that Mosley is absolutely shot, and thats the biggest limitation for Nazim at this point. In the Mayweather fight, Brother Naz talked about that one window of opportunity that Shane would receive, and then he would have to "step on the dragons tail" to completely disrupt Floyds flow. That part is where he failed in, and thats because he physically could not do it anymore.
he hit Floyd with 2 haymakers and woke floyd up, Physically Floyd was not going to allow it to happen
I really like Naz and Shane I hope he beats Pac nobody deserves this **** like mosley but again mosley had his time in the light and maybe its just pacs turn, I know he was on cloud 9 when he beat oscar
Id say its a combination between the two. If an earlier version of Mosley fought, the fight would have been way closer
Sorry guys, i am not sold on Naazim...I dont have nothing against him but to me, he just talks, and sounds so philosophical(sp) when he says it. I mean i do think he is a good trainer but i think he is severly overrated... I mean when he was talking about "Generals strategizing, and they are not going to give you the task if you are not up to the challenge." I was just sitting there thinking, "This sounds awesome to somebody who is listening but not really hearing what he was saying... People were probably sitting there thinking "this guy is deep" When i am sitting there thinking thats ****ing common sense. So then you say what made this guy a star? Because he found a block in margarito's? To me thats doing your job. Maybe he has great attention to detail which is great but that doesnt turn you into a superstar trainer. Before the block, noone was speaking about nazim.... Now i will be honest and admit that i never really paid attention to him when he was with bernard.. But at the same time, bernard was already great.... Now to answer the question.... Does Nazim play a factor? If he study pac and just tell shane what he needs him to do and leave all the philosophical(sp) BS out... then shane has a punchers chance. Reason why shane loses is because to me he has no footwork. he is straight forward. This is what i wonder, If you watch all of pacs last fights the opponents come straight fwd, which allows pac to rotate around them, turning them and hitting them. But what if pac fought some one that didnt come straight fwd, and in fact fought going bwds, then pac wouldnt be able to turn them so easily because now pac will be pursuing that person, which means he wont be turning them because he will be coming in a straight line... I think his weakness is pursueing and cutting off the ring.. Mosley is not that guy.
It all depends on shane, imo hes done, mayweather ruined him and the mora fight showed that. I hope he doesnt fight pac, pacmans team cherry picked this fight perfectly, after the marg fight they didnt want anything to do with mosley. but after watching him lose to floyd and a crappy draw with mora, all of a sudden pacs team wants mosley...
Mosely has arguably the best ww right hand and PAC is open for a right hand but it probably still won't be enough
He would make a lot of philosophical, smart quotes and convince people he's a genius, smack people with a towel, but on fight night, have little impact. He's a completely overrated trainer who took too much praise because of what his fighters did. There's no doubt that, even if he is a great trainer, Roach is better. Even Hopkins has said the same. Roach is by far the best trainer of the modern era.
He would definitely need to come up with new and improved dragon stories cuz that shyt didnt work out so well in the Floyd fight.
Nazim gave AMAZING advice in between rounds shane just didnt follow. i like where he told shane to look him in the eyes and repeat what he was saying ("step on the tail and jump on him, Shane look at me and tell me you're gonna get that tail!"). A Trainer can only do so much, he cant fight the fight for his fighter.
He can provide the blueprint on how to do it. But his fighter doesn't have the tools to excute the plan
Nazim is a great trainer. I think he was considerably responsible for the performance Shane gave against Margarito with his sharpened technique and more committed physical endurance, and knew what to do against Floyd to some extent. Like he said in24/7, the game-plan is suited for someone who can execute, and Shane doesn't seem like he can execute much of anything anymore.
