I have no idea... I walked around at 140-150 in my teens... joined a boxing club and my first Amateur fight was at 119 and the dude I fought was like 121.. both of us around 5'6 5'7.

Exactly. Nonito is an Ectomorph and should be at the lower weights. James Toney on the other hand was a Mesomorph and probably should have been a light heavyweight to cruiserweight to heavyweight, I don't think he ever belonged at 160 where he could barely make weight and with his chin he could have simply moved up rather than have lost fights. Holyfield is also a Mesomorph, as was Michael Moorer. People move up because they get older but also because it can improve their speed and power to move up, after a certain age when you cut weight you begin to lose your speed and power as it takes longer for the body to regenerate muscle with every cut. By the time you're 30 and older you shouldn't be cutting weight anymore because you might never get that muscle back, as was the case with Roy Jones Jr, Chris Byrd, and others.
Does Nonito really walk around at 140? He sure doesn't look like it. I used to be able to lose 3 pounds of water pretty easy, so I would walk at 121 to fight at 118 and at 128 to fight at 125 in college (5'8") I never could lose very much weight that way but everyone carries water and fat differently. I can see why Floyd started at 130, he has a slight skeleton in person. I would think that I would look significantly bigger than Donaire, I'm surprised he's that heavy.
depends on your chin, endurance, speed and punching power. Boxers will be KO'd or outmuscled at a weight class thats to high for them, they may have a speed advantage given their smaller structure but it may not be rellevent. If you cut to much wait you will be weak as a kitten fight night and will tire very easily. I know for the amateurs my best fighting weight is 165 but when I dont watch my diet im around 180. For me I have a good chin and punching power so if I dont want to drop all the way to 165 I can fight at 178 very comfertably and I will have full energy for the fight, I can eat carbs for dinner and a decent breakfast still making weight. The disadvantages of fighting at 178 for me are although my punches are still heavy, they are not as devastating as they are at 165. I have more speed at 165 but a little more power at 178 and everyone I fight will be bigger than me most of them cutting from around as much as 200 lbs. Look at guys like Roberto Duran, who started out as a lightweight at 135 and then went to welter, and middle. His punching power was devastating at lw very powerful at welter and he could still bang at middleweight. He had a phenominal chin as well. Pacquiao of course is the most recent example of moving up 8 different weight classes and carrying his speed punching power endurance and chin. James toney another example started at 160 and remained competetive all the way to heavyweight. Hope this helps!
