How does Ortiz get so much power on his punches from the way his feet are planted?

Ortiz a g, he would roll straight through Bradley.

He may even become cream of the crop

    Alexander
    Khan
    Bailey
    Paulie
    Bradley

Good fighters but will best all of them imo

excellent post and best discription i've read on generating power in a while.

i'll just add that he has slight bend in his waist and knees which ties his whole body together. it's called sitting on the punch. when u do this....u engage ur rectum(ass) into the punch...that along with the trunk rotation/should rotation generates some really great torque and makes for a very solid punch.

I aways thought his left foot was tip toeing because he was putting most of his body weight on his right foot since he's actually right handed.

First, with a proper stance the rear heel is always raised and your weight is on the ball of the foot in both feet. This helps in movement as well as giving your weight somewhere to go if you get hit. If your weight is on your heels and you get hit you can't rock back anywhere except to your ass.

With the hook and uppercut you turn your body into them to get full momentum.

With the cross you use your hips.

With the jab the power usually comes from the snap at the end, but you can put a little more on it by pushing forward with your rear foot.

He does all of those things in the video.

True if your orthodox throwing a right hand without moving your feet. Or vice versa

Standing on your toes allows for a stronger pivot & transfer of weight, which he's doing along with the proper turning of his waist; hence a stronger punch, There are other ways to transfer your body weight into a punch, as some fighters like Frazier have described, but the idea that being flat-footed is what gives you power is misguided.
