Roach must already have a plan- the way Pac punches using crazy angles is going to cause Floyd trouble imo Pac has proved he can take a punch, he will be the most powerful puncher Floyd has faced..

But this would all be for nothing if Floyd can successfully frustrate Pac like he did with Hatton, DLH etc , hes a master at this, just like Bernard Hopkins

Floyd will also be the most powerful puncher Manny has faced. FLoy'd power is very underrated. The shoulder roll defense is the least of Manny's worries. What he needs to do is figure out how to throw his shots without leaving himself so open. In the past he's been able to get away with it because of his handpseed but floyd is the fastest guy he has ever faced and he will be able to exploit those openings that manny leaves

With a strong "Left lead" & awkward combo's forcing Mayweather to duck low, Followed by Pac's upper.
It will be entertaining to watch PBF throw his own right lead when Pac won't give him a chance to throw it. (Speed Vs. Speed)

punches in bunches, the speed of his combo's is nothing Floyd has ever seen before, not to mention the crazy angles he can give you. He would have to catch Floyd rolling into one of his punches.

I think he could counter him too, use his feet to set Floyd up. show him one angle then move and punch at the same time which he can do.

Mayweather is the faster guy at this weight category so countering some of Pac's shots should NOT be too difficult especially when Pac throws a lot, that gives Mayweather more openings to take advantage of IF he can handle Pac's power.

If this is a fight of skill vs skill then obviously Pacquiao gets outboxed, what Pac has to do is exactly what Roach hints, he needs to overpower Mayweather. At this weight Mayweather will obviously be bigger so he will be able to hold and twist at will, against DLH he wasn't able to do that being the smaller man and was badly troubled and hurt a few times. Pac needs to stay active like he does and keep throwing, he needs to force Mayweather to feel his power and discourage him from counters. If he succeeds then you will see that he slowly takes over the fight as it keeps going. If he can't overpower him then he loses a decision in my opinion.

    This is a 50/50 fight.

To beat the shoulder roll you punch what is exposed. Don't go for the head. The chest and shoulder is what you beat up. People don't train the shoulder to take punches.

Floyd is better than Floyd in pure boxing defense, but Nard is more crafty. PAC can't nullify the shoulder roll technique by PUNCHING in combos. Floyd can't avoid everything especially if PAC is rallying off 11 or 12 punch combos. Something is going to land before Floyd can use his legs to get distance. Won't be easy......but it won't be easy for either man given the styles they both have. Interesting match up that for me is a toss up. Leaning towards floyd by split or majority decision.

Cannot see how Floyd can win by decision because I just dont see him dominating Pac. Floyd will have to go for the knockout...

Personally think floyd is shitting his pants right now

Floyd can't KO JMM. Floyd can win against Pac but it's by decision.

Does Mayweather even use the shoulder roll defence against southpaws?

Oh plz give me a break. Have u just started watching boxing man? I mean for real. Floyd has little to no power @ 47 and knocking out a blown up Hatton and Marquez does not mean jack. Then as far as speed is concern Pac handspeed is faster than Floyd's. Pac has natural handspeed, meaning that his hands are very fast and are still power shots while he is standing still. Floyd has handspeed but most of his handspeed come from his foot movement. There are only about 3 boxers out now who has natural handspeed and they are Pac, Judah and Berto. Can't put Mosley in there as of right now a lot of his shots are wide and leaves him open to counters. I have said long time ago there is a way to get by the shoulder roll and the peek-a-boo defense, and you have to thank Roy Jones for that. Just look at his fight with Erik Harding and go to the 9th rd I think and you will see what I'm talking about. Now I'm not saying Manny will beat Floyd or vice versa, but he is vulnerable if you can look at that Roy Jones fight getting threw that is not hard.

Here is what will happen. Only this time he'll be tucked in for dreamland.

The shoulder roll is easily dealt with by throwing the left hook to the body and bringing it back up to the head. In the orthodox shoulder roll defense, the left hook is the gamble punch. You have to be fast and mix it up to the body and the head but it will get through eventually.

Anytime Floyd opens up Manny is going to have an answer. Floyd is definitely not that fast to outspeed Pacquiao on the counters.
