Nothing changes with how Parker is viewed. Ruiz Jr won on the back of an accurate inside and counter game, he was landing cleanly. When Parker fought Joshua he came in clumsily with push punches and punches ricocheting off shoulders and arms. So even though the referee broke up those exchanges very prematurely they never looked very threatening.
Parker won't beat Ruiz now. He barely did the first time around, probably deserved a draw or loss in that one.
Always considered Parker a top fighter. I had Parker only winning i think 3 or 4 rounds against AJ. I had Parker winning by 7- 5 against Ruiz and 8-4 vs Takam. I had Parker beating Hughie in what was the worst HW title fight ever. I had Whyte just edging it by a couple of points even with ignoring the first KD that shouldn't of stood, although I would back Parker in a rematch.
Parker is a quality fighter. Deserved a draw with Ruiz. Always thought Parker was better than Wilder.
It's obviously a much better win in hindsight than many thought at the time, though there are strong arguments for having Ruiz as the rightful winner (and vice versa). Trouble is I think Parker has hit his ceiling and is regressing now. He doesn't look as fast or sharp as he did a few years back, and seems a bit mentally beaten down since losing his title. Against a fighter like Ruiz, who pushed him to the brink last time, that could spell disaster in a rematch. I'd have Ruiz beating him right now.
