    Not so long ago?
The helenius fight was over 3 and a half years ago. And in that almost four year span Wilder lost twice, once by bad KO, and had a dogfight with the ghost of Chisora.

And what does who Wilder beat in his prime have to do with beating Rico now.

Thread clearly says current Wilder, which isnt the Wilder that beat the guys youre bringing up in comparison to Rico.

    ...

Lastly and less importantly, yes its entirely possible that Rico is better then the Helenius that fought Wilder.

He definitely has heart. He has never faced a puncher to confirm his chin.

He took a hellacious beating from a 20 stone Fury who was planting his feet and looking for a KO, and he hasn't been down by 'lesser punchers' in the way he might have been of his chin was suspect. I think his chin is pretty solid, not elite, but above average, even now. He wore a lot of Del's big bombs.

Agree that Usyk did not look his usual self and that if this is his form going forward he is going to lose sooner than later. He's old, and as such, has to work more, not less, at maintaining his form.

Rico has like 40lbs on Wilder and is no doubt much physically stronger. He can certainly grab him and maul him like he was doing to Usyk.

obviously need to avoid the right, but current Wilder is pretty degraded and current Rico just looked shockingly fast, strong, and slick.

how can you knock Wilder’s chin? he had one bad KO loss… to Zhang. Honestly that could happen to anyone who fights Zhang. Zhang just hits THAT hard.

Fury knocked him out via wearing him down and accumulation.

Wilder would almost certainly land something big eventually and that'd be that.

Rico is not much of a puncher so hes probably not stopping Wilder, and Usyks own lack of power is a big part of why Rico was able to have so much success.

I'm not knocking his chin. I think he has an above average chin and a heart the size of an truck. Apologies if my post did not read like that for whatever reason.

Even at this stage of Wilders career he is still capable of one shotting Rico, wether he could land it if they fought is another thing that we’d only know for certain if they did fight !

Really, I think they should try to make this fight. There are positives for both guys. Actually, I saw there are rumours of Wilder being matched with Kabayel, should Usyk drop the WBC... I would much rather watch Wilder v Rico before that happens.

Rico gets a pay day against another name. If he wins, he establishes more legitimacy as a contender; having faced both an elite boxer and then a puncher.

Wilder gets a potential easy pay day similar to what Joshua got against Ngannou. If Wilder looks good doing so, then maybe think about Kabayel.
