Same applies. Losing big to Floyd Mayweather proves what? So close decision over Austin Trout makes one p4p? (Lets forget about Lara for a second, Canelo was on p4p before that bout, and before the Angulo bout not that it makes any difference) Trouts one claim to fame is decisioning Cotto. But Cotto isnt even p4p at Ring. So who did Canelo beat to make him p4p?
I assume this will all be moot, as Geale was #2 Ring at Middleweight so GGG should move into the Top 10 next issue. I guess the meaning of PFP is subjective. If it's just about resume, Rigo is on the list and he only has 1 marquee win. If it's about resume, I'd take Pac's (wins and losses) over that of Andre Ward. I simply think GGG is a better fighter than Canelo, and in a fight I'd pick GGG 10 times out of 10.
Canelo was rated P4P after Trout because he was an unbeaten unified JMW Champ he's still on the list because he has wins over 2 #1 rated JMW Trout/Lara GGG has beaten 1 former champ ever. Skillwise GGG has better footwork/power but Canelo looks to me the better boxer with better defense. P4P is imo about skills/recent resume and while GGG has some skills it goes back to what everyone is saying HE HASN'T DONE ****. I don't like Broner but he won 2/3 of his division Titles recently vs actual Champs that's P4P GGG maybe better than Broner but Broner did more at the time to be mentioned on the list
Last I checked, Cotto was the champion of Golovkin's divison - and Trout has a win over Cotto. Trout's win over Cotto trumps Golovkin's whole fraudulent career...
Broner had balls enough to go up not one but TWO divisions and fight for a title there. Twice. WTF has Golovkin done other than beat up on 154lb'ers?
Mosley- shot to ****,mundine isn't p4p and he stopped Mosley ,Camelot couldn't stop him Trout-one good win against cotto and his was vastly over-rated, again Canelo beat him in a very very close fight Angulo - a pretty average punching bag fight made for canelo- stopped only because he was taken a lot of shots not because he was badly hurt Mayweather - totally outclassed canelo made him look one dimensional and very very average, although canelo was weight drained Lara- wasn't a great victory and no one really deserved to win tho sight and it could have gone either way Ggg Rosado- got beat to death and butchered .not one bit close ggg killed him and was supposed to be sick for the fight Geale- number 2 fighter in the division ,seen as his biggest challenge and some tipped him to win or at the very least give a good fight .ggg again destroyed him in 3 rounds Macklin- too 5 middleweight at the time, beat strum and was 50-50 against a not that shot Martinez until he ran out of gas. Again another fighter that was supposed to last, ggg murdered him in 3 rounds Stevens -good fighter again beat to death by ggg Proska-solid world title challenger again hammered by ggg And let's remember Alvarez was p4p after just beating trout in a very close fight, ggg isn't top 10 after all this ,it's a bias joke
Golovtard "logic" at it's finest on display here. Lara, Trout >>> Stevens, Macklin, Geale, Proska, Rosado. Is this even up for debate?
Last I checked Ring did not have Cotto as p4p. Seems a bit inconsistent yes? I'm not arguing for Golovkin inclusion but if you think any old body who decisioned Trout would have been made p4p for it I have a miracle hair restoration potion I want to sell you as well. Cheap! P4P lists are just political/popularity lists. I dont put much stock in them, never have. Its completely subjective.
Alvarez took a fight he was favored to lose against a higher rated champ beat him and became unified WBC/WBA Champ. Through no fault of his own outside of Geale GGG never fought anyone rated higher than 4/5 in a division where every top fighter is unproven. And he just beat Lara another fight he was supposed to lose. Nodoby rated Canelo P4P when he was fighting the Lopez, Rhodes of the sport which is where GGG is at now he got rated for beating the best in his division. If/when GGG fights/beats some of the prime champs in his division or another he will earn a P4P rating.
Cotto doesn't need to be P4P, he's THE champion in Golovkin's division. Trout has the W over the champion in Golovkin's division. Trout > Golovkin Maybe you need to learn how to read because I never made such an asinine argument.
Name recognition goes a long way unfortunately most of GGG's comp would beat Canelo's, but to the general fans Canelo has a more impressive resume.
Exactly but not just name recognition what about the manner of how they won Alvarez was top 10 after arguably losing to trout , im even if he knocked him out u don't think if have out him in the top ten Ggg beats all five guys to death and still isn't on it
