The quartet of Hearns Leonard Hagler and Duran.

And the quartet of Barrera Pacquiao Marquez and Morales.

    ROFLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL :patsch

The big 4 in the 80's were actually the best of their era

Floyd dominates this era, so the bottom 4 doesn't even hold a candle to the top 4. :rofl

The top 4 are all elite ATG's, the bottom 4 ain't.

The least of the 80s fab 4 is greater than the best of 00s fab 4. There really isn't any comparison.

Well, for one, Marquez and Morales never fought, while Hearns, Leonard, Hagler and Duran all faced each other. So it kind of diminishes that Fab Four - since there's a matchup missing.

You're right. The guy who is an 8 division champs and one of the greatest fighters ever "ain't ****".

Classic MVC!. Still fapping to Floyd videos in his parents basement receiving hot-pockets upon screaming up the stairs at his poor old mother.

True. Marquez vs Morales is a missing piece of the puzzle.

Its very easy to remember the fighters of yesterday with rose tinted glasses and fans can often rewrite history.
I think here it is very difficult to compare these 4 as examples as not all of the bottom 4 have fought everyone on the list, but on another note Hagler only fought in one division, whilst the others have won titles in more than one division.
I think as fighters go, the 4 more recent fighters can hold their heads high with the other 4.

The original comparison had the 80's quartet compared to Trinidad, DLH, Mosley and Hops I believe I guess u could mix and match Vargas, Forrest and Quartey

Agreed the 80s are looked at with nostalgia.

Also the 80s fighters were bigger. The 00s fab four were featherweights making it harder to get respect.

Of the two, I think Leonard was clearly the best from the 80s and Pacquiao was the best of the 00s.

And Hagler was second-best (among those four) in the 80s - although people will dispute that.

Who was second best of the Fab Four of the 00s?

Morales beat a much younger version of Pacquiao and his fights with Barrera were great. But he never fought Marquez.

Marquez never fought Morales, he outpotined Barrera ... and he only defeated Manny once (out of four). Can he be number-two if he never fought Morales?

Was Barrera - who beat Morales twice - number two, since he and Manny were the only members of the group to face the other three?

The "fab 4" of the 2000's wasn't even close. Stop it

Morales beat a far superior version of Barrera than Marquez did.

I think it's clear that Pacquiao is #1 and Morales is #2. Can go either way between Marquez and Barrera for #3.

If you throw out Pacquaio, Barrera went 2-2 against Morales and Marquez.

    Marquez went 1-0.

    Morales went 1-2.

I lean toward Barrera at #2.

I can see an argument for 2-4 being disputed.

Barrera went 2-1 against Morales prime for prime. No excuses. He embarrassed Hamed. He was an exceptional fighter. I don't hold the Jones losses against him too much because he was technically green then.

But Morales clearly beat the two men who made Barrera look limited.

The Junior Jones losses were no more embarrassing than Marquez's losses to Chris John and Freddie Norwood. At the time, Junior Jones was a pretty big name.

The Barrera-Morales fights and Barrera-Hamed are some favorites of mine. As is Barrera-McKinney. So I might be biased. :D
