They'd be equal because they were equal.

destroying a prime barrera is not equal to escaping with a win over a past-prime barrera

This is the same reason im biased for modern day fighter and it also because my age is not 120 yrs old. I rate a certain boxer based on what i totally saw not because he has 200 w 10 L 5 D and its a century ago.

Escaping with a win? Hardly. I wanted Barrera to win that fight, and he could have won that fight, but he didn't and it wasn't close. Sure, most of the rounds themselves were competitive and MAB got ****ed on a 3-point swing when he lost a point and lost credit for the knockdown, but JMM won the large majority of rounds.

MAB was just unwilling to do what he needed to do in order to win.

That said, I get the point you were trying to make. I just don't think "escaping with a win" accurately depicts what happened by any stretch of the imagination.

Well, but looks can be deceiving. I like facts. And out of the records, which are fact, you can extract the resume, longevity, dominance and accomplishments.

it was a close and classic fight. though, i had JMM winning by 1 point had the referee not robbed MAB of a 10-8 round. Barerra clearly won atleast 5 rounds in that fight.

Pacman didn't look so great in the 2nd Barrera fight himself IMO
