How does this one punch knockout rate in heavyweight history?

I have allways been mightily impressed by the Marciano ,that cold cocked Layne.
Layne was tough and a very good puncher himself .Rocky made a huge statement that night,imo He became the "Champ in waiting".

 

That knockout is just numbing.

 

sure adds some much needed perspective as to how hard Marciano could hit...especially in light of all these modern day revisionists who want to downplay Rocky and consider him as just a "swarmer".

 

That's one of my favorite knockouts by Rocky. Layne just crumbles right on top of him.

 

Jaysus H Christ. One of the best examples of Rocky's one shot power and timing.

 

It was an emphatic statement. Layne was far from a push over, a teak tough brawler who'd ask any heavyweight a few questions. Marciano swatted him down with power to spare. Lovely stuff.

 

It was extremely impressive, Layne wasn't a small man either.

Ive seen better but any 1 punch KO is usually half decent surely.
