I know for Ward bid money & exposure...but what does Ward bring to the table for Chavez Jr...Jr's team probably don't believe Jr can win...Ward is no ticket seller so how does Jr benefit at all? Thought please... Dipset4Ever
the kid wants to prove himself...not everything is about money and bull**** i've been telling you guys since the start...maybe his skills aren't, but that kids heart is the truth....
A lot of money, and being slapped silly might give him a good reason to retire without looking too much of a quitter to his dad. That, or he might just be too brave for his own good.
In the eventual case when he can no longer make weight and he has to move up, would not be the ultimate goal(for anyone in the class)?
An over-sized cheater who tested positive twice isn't a "***** like 90% of the rest"? Let me guess, the 10% are Tijuana warriors, right?
Definitely big on heart, pretty mediocre in skills. Utilizes his assets well though (Size/str) I like that he wants a rematch with Martinez, wants to fight Ward. He'll probably make 3 million fighting Ward like he did with Martinez. He has nothing for Ward though realistically in the ring. TBH I think Chavez will still be SLIGHTLY bigger than Ward (Chavez fights at like 180-182 on fight night). However, Ward is just too much for him. A technician like Ward would have his ways with him.
The kid has skills, he just has been to lazy to hone them. Its a pity, but he did'nt learn from the mistakes his dad went through late in his career when he got involved with alcohol and substance abuse. Not saying Jr. would have been great or can be great, just saying his focus is all whacked. Enough money rolled into his pockets to soon that he lost the hunger for focus and proper physical training. I'm as big a Chavez fan as you are Freddy, and I'm saying it for the first time right now, Chavez Jr. has dissapointed me for his lack of effort. All I can do is shake me head at what could have been.
Beating Ward is huge. If he loses badly what is the benefit, but there should always be confidence that he can wear out Ward and stop him, and if he wins that is the benefit. If he is only good enough to beat smaller guys at middleweight and once he moves up he loses, which means he cannot step up to beat the better guys, then that says a lot for his ability in boxing. Means he is not that good a fighter.
