How does Wilder justify sitting out for all of 2023? And should we be ok with it?

Another post to keep you at the pinnacle of p4p poster on this forum.

Usyk had to fight Dubois as it was a mandatory fight at the risk of being stripped. Usyk's only goal is undisputed so having the belt stripped and taken hostage by another promotion be disastrous. Usyk won the fight against Dubois with ease, despite the low blow strategy employed by Dubois.

Fury and Wilder are only about shrewd business decisions because they are insignificant compared to Usyk in boxing and as human beings.

Fury Usyk is undisputed even if they stripped Usyk...which they wouldn't because they want their belt in that mix. This is why undisputed is pretty much almost worthless because achieving it in modern boxing is near impossible with all these crappy orgs who people give legitimacy to with these notions.

Wilder and Fury fans talking about other fighters ducking... That's about as surreal as it gets.

To be fair, he was pretty active as a champion. He’s just 37 years old now, not too uncommon to start slowing things down at that age. I kinda miss seeing him in the ring though. I couldn’t stand all his cherry picking and ducking but he was fun as hell to watch.

Yeah, you can help but being exciting when you have that kind of power. Like his rematch with Ortiz; despite nothing really happening for rounds and rounds you know something big can happen at any moment, and suddenly it does.

IMHO he was active as a fighter.

To be active as a champion you need to be fighting contenders fairly regularly - and the only fights he took against actual contenders were Fury (in shocking condition) and Ortiz (who was never a contender IMHO, but got the reputation of being one).

That over weight ring walk costume took a lot out of him.

He needs the time to work on future ring walk costumes to get them just right.

How dare people disrespect Deontay Wilder. The god of power. The unstoppable force. The 210 pound stick of TNT. Put respect on this mans name not his fault everyone is scared of him Usyk included.

    Typical min-IQ take...

"How can I spin this to make Fury look better?"

It's easy to look powerful when you're mostly knocking over third rate fighters who are incapable of dodging telegraphed punches... The day he cracks a genuine granite chin, I'll respect the supposed "power".

Pretty simple really, they don't want to fumble the AJ fight.

Yes my take is the min IQ one when you're here pretending that Wilder has overrated power. BHAHAHA. FOOL.

No pretending about it... Dude clearly hits hard, but to call it elite power you need to be cracking granite, not crushing cans.

And to be honest, when you've become so OTT that you're a tired pastiche of an infatuated fanboy? Yea, min IQ fits rather well.

Why would Wilder break the habits formed over a lifetime.

When Vitali had the title you never heard a peep out of Wilder about wanting a title shot.

Politics got him a vacant shot against Stiverne and then he defended for years against embarrassments.

Luis Ortiz was his best win and it was extremely obvious to all that if Ortiz was 30 instead of 45 he would have beaten Wilder

The boxing establishment was desperate for it's western champions but they all avoided tough challenges and waited until Wlad was old, now fury waits for Usyk to get old.

It strikes me I have been too critical of Anthony Joshua, he didn't wait for Usyk to get old and instead did his best, I take back what I've said bad about Joshua he's alright actually.
