I agree with this list. Liddell is so underrated these days its hard to stomach. Also, Shogun and Jones being #1 is kind of odd to me.

    Good list:good

    How?

Who do you see beating a prime Shogun or Jones?

Hard to really factor in as S. Rua, Jones, R. Evands and R. Jackson havent retired yet.

Head to head though id say-

    J. Jones
    S. Rua
    D. Henderson
    R. Jackson
    W. Silva

I'd roll with that. Rampage never had a big consistent run at either his Pride peak (beat Liddell, hurt by Wanderlei) or UFC (beat Hendo, lost to Griffin) but that win over Chuck was big. Although Wanderlei kicked the **** outta Rampage twice at Rampage's pride peak.

Jon Jones would beat them all in a cage IMO. No doubt.

    Rua
    Jones
    Silva
    Liddell
    Jackson

I think Wandy,Page and Liddell are hard to place due to they've beaten each other.

Henderson nor Machida have done enough to be ranked. I'd say Rogerio Nogueira is at their level too. I'd love him to face Machida and he already armbarred Henderson.

I'd say Chuck belongs at the end of the list myself. No.1 is between Rua and Jones IMO.

You're on the wrong forum talking about the wrong sport and the wrong weight classes. Great post.

Well, considering that most of the guys mentioned did their best work from the previous decade, i think it's already fair.

In a h2h list it makes sense placing Shogun or Jones as #1 but placing either of them over wand or Chuck seems odd considering that chuck and wand were the champions for years, and they were the number #1 guys for years.

    1. Wanderlei Silva
    2. Shogun Rua
    3. Rampage
    4. Liddell
    5. Hendo

Jones has tremendous potential, but all things considered he has yet to accomplish enough to be placed in top 5 atg. And a top five without chuck is crazy. Wins over ortiz, couture, Overeem, Belfort, Sobral, come on now, his title run was epic.

Im surprised at how highly Rampage is regarded...
He has done very well for a guy who has one big slam and a few left/right hooks..
And in 10plus yrs as a professional mma fighter never learnt how to check a leg kick..

Shogun, jones, wandy, hendo and chuck..in no particular order.
