Solid chin If you can get up from a 12th round Deontay Wilder bomb 6 months after being on the booze and sniff + go onto to finish the remainder of the round as the stronger man then you can safely say you have a ****ing sturdy chin.
All things point to him being extremely durable. I think some answers are confusing durability and chin. I don't think he has the most phenomenal chin, even currently. But what he's done after getting his clock cleaned, or cut...........etc..........that is the durability factor. And on that I'd say he passes with flying colors.
cut vs Wallin ; there was only risk to get blood stoppage if Wallin will land there again, therefore this showed his ability to change fighting style in order to avoid next landed punch there. After cut this was main task for him. Wilder fight? Wilder did not switched him off even not once. If he had real concussion, with him had happened the sames as with Whyte vs Povetkin or Charr vs Briedis with deep KO. Wilder hit very hard and get him down with physical force alone, not with concussion...... Don't know how durable Fury will be. Fury depends how motivated in long term he will be. Like Ruiz too, I do not know.
Well he took this shot from a 6'8" future lineal champion so I'd say he's very durable! This content is protected
Hmm he must have a glass chin then...even though Wilder says I only have to be good for 1 second over 12 rounds ...& for the most part he has been correct apart from Glass jaw Fury..
Neither Rahman nor McCall were just 'average' punchers. They weren't hugely concussive, but to call them average is selling them way short.
Wilder still dented his chin in the first fight. Fury kicked his ass in the rematch but that chin will never be as sturdy again. Let AJ or even a lesser fighter land something flush, I don't think Fury has many more rising up from the canvas moments left in him
I'd say he's got an average chin. It's possible to drop him with a good one, but keeping him down is another matter.
