To the tune of 6-1 with one questionable decision, so very.

Teeto that is probably the best reply I could ever hope for:good

I think for some posters its an easy decision, but for a lot of people its a quandry

I wonder if anyone has these 2 outside their top 2?

Well some thought Walcott, Farr, Godoy beat him and Schmelling obviously did. Plus dominance is more than simply winning but winning in a dominant fashion

Lists are usually about farovites if were honest put who you want at the top :D

Would you agree that it could be a difficult decision for some?

This isn't a parallel debate, but i always say there's no case for Moore at number one at 175, the reason is Ezzard Charles. Through no fault of Archie's, there is no case for him to be at number one, because Charles has too much on him, Archie Moore is one of the greatest light-heavy achievers that ever lived, but Charles achieved more.

Sometimes there is just someone that has the case to be above you, clearly, so effectively you can only ever get as high as 2, and if you are at 2, then that other guy has to be 1, if you are number 7, then that other guy must be at least 6. And it's not a discredit to how great you were. For me this possibly applies to Louis, with Ali being that other guy, but it definitely applies to Moore, with Charles being THAT other guy.

:good I couldn't have them outside the top 2. Just look at the names Luois beat early in his career, Baer, Sharkey, Schmeling, Carnera, all former lineal champs. Add Walcott to that when past prime and emphatically at that. Louis is my clear number 2, no issue.

Except it was 3 controversal decisions and not 1, wasn't it? So potentially only 4-4 against that opposition

Godoy was a close fight. Decision went to the champ. About right.

Farr....not understanding this shout at all. If you can find someone who was ringside and thought Farr won, I would be impressed...as it is, you're using Mendoza as your source, which tells me all I need to know :D

Most sources have Farr as putting up a hell of a fight but clearly a Louis win, think this is a case of underdogs performance getting over exagerrated over the years like Don Cockell
