In Canelo's case, clenbuterol allows him to make weight while maintaining muscle. That has to be his belief or he wouldn't be using it.

It helps you during training, so you can recover faster and train harder, in one hand you are pushing yourself to limits that your own body can't handle naturally, in the other hand you are having an unfair advantage.
During the 30 for 30 of Ben Johnson they said that without it, Johnson could lift his maximum weight once a month, with PED's he could do it twice a week, so you tell me if steroids are not unfair.

The irony of the Ben Johnson story is blood samples were kept and it turns out Carl Lewis was using PEDs as well but not ones that could be identified at the time. This was discovered later when they went back and retested the samples.

If I'm right the documentary said that 6/10 or 8/10 of the final competitors had positive tests during one point of their careers.

    6 out of 8

And it tuned out a couple had positive tests leading up to the Olympics, under which Carl Lewis himself.

I'm pretty sure Carl Lewis failed 3 tests in that year, but he blamed it on his "cough medicine" and was let off the hook. Not to mention he even ran out of his lane in the 100m final, which should be an instant DQ. But I guess you can't ban the golden boy.

Yeah, it would naive to think that not only are the athletes of today smashing the times of the 'doped up to the eyeballs' sprinters of the 80s, but they're also somehow managing to achieve this feat clean.

What isn't as well known is that Di-ck Pound was a vehement defender of Ben Johnson. You ask whose this ****ing Di-ck Pound? Well he's the former director of WADA. He's also the same guy who declared Armstrong a drug cheat using illegal and deteriorated samples from the '99 Tour. Gdamn there is so much of this unknown yet questionable crap.

Shoving adrenaline or something similar up your nose would do far more for a broken nose than clenbuterol. It was still allowed, last I checked.

Anabolic steroids help build muscle and raise red blood cells which aide stamina. T is good stuff as far as Peds go.

GH basically stimulates your body to produce more anabolic steroids. It turns you hormonally into a 13 year old.

Bronchodilators help with training, weight cutting, and can give an immediate effect on athletic performance. These ramp up cardio.

Corticosteroids prevent inflammation. They let you fight with injuries and recover quicker from sore muscles, etc.

You can still be a fatass while roided (James Toney). You can still gas and get knocked out while shredded and juiced (Fernando Vargas). You can turn yourself into a a zombie if you use uppers incorrectly (Ali v Holmes).
