Mayweather/Cotto is the bigger more lucrative fight by far.

You continue to miss my point, as you inexplicably and stubbornly maintain your view that the WBC is some shining beacon of integrity.

Exactly, we are on the best possible path for hard core fans, casual fans and the sport as a whole. The only people complaining are the uber G fans even though not even G is complaining. This is simply a chance to hate on a great. I could understand if Cotto were not fighting a competitive fight but this is looked at as a mega competitive fight with Cotto actually being underdog again for third fight in a row but people swear he's taking some easy road, lol, people are ridiculous with their hate and fanboyism

You said why should Cotto care about GGG as his mandatory if there's no hoots or hollers about GGG fighting his. I explained why and further said that's why Cotto should care. It's his mandatory, a unification of the MW division, and one of the biggest fights he can take. What point did I miss, exactly?

It's a rematch, so not for me personally. But for him, yeah it is. Doesn't mean he's going to get it though.

By the same definition most of you are using I suppose most non-lineal titlists right now, of which there are around or more than 50, are holding their title hostage. Literally all of them, if you fellas were consistent and held everyone to the same standards...

Or are we only saying this about lineal champions? In which case there are countless and countless examples in the last decade+ and throughout history. I suppose Dempsey held the belt hostage over Wills as Wills was #1 contender throughout his reign and same with Sugar Ray Robinson holding the belt hostage over Burley. Right? Right?! ...right.

Did Dempsey and TBE impose catch-weight conditions on their opponents?

    Not in their title fights.

So your argument to "holding the belt hostage" is solely determined by the contractually agreed upon weight within the division which the champion reigns and NOT about the quality of opponent choice?

    Interesting...

I am glad you said quality. Would you say that Gaele is a more dangerous (higher quality) opponent at 160 than he is at 157?

What's your opinion on Pac's victory over Cotto compared to Cotto's win over Geale?

I used this example earlier A.Berto is K.Thurmans mandatory would you be mad at Thurman fighting Porter over Berto?

2/3 of Cotto's MW opponents are better wins than GGG and the one that isn't is GGG's best win. Cotto isn't or has yet to duck GGG.

Sorry but who has Cotto fought?

    1. An old Martinez who was clearly avoiding a fight with GGG for years :deal

    2. Geale, GGG's leftover that got bruttaly destroyed :deal

And right now he clearly say that he want no Piece of GGG. If he really beats up Canelo, he will vacate the belt instead of fighting GGG, mark my words!
