this is a real easy question to answer .. first his record 173 wins 108 ko 19 losses a total record of 193 fight .

looking at the number there is no way in any devision will there be over 100 php fighter .. In rays case he pretty much ran through the best in the world with the exception of Marcel Cerdan who died, every other ranked named he destroyed ..
The there is the undefeated streak of 41 wins with out a loss agains Boxing best fighters . it was not until he move to middle weight did he get his first points loss.
Boxing skills one of the best in the business both offense and defense even when his speed and reflexes had diminished
Chin-- never been KOed in 193 fights
losses a majority of his loss came after he was well past his prime. Based on that alone very few boxer come close including Marvin Hagler who record does not even come close.

If I don't know **** than you obviously don't know how to ****ing read, because I never said SRR was not great. Read my post again, I said he was great during his time, like many other great boxers. I've watched more of his fights than many of his so called fans, so I meant it when I said he was great and I'll gladly explain.

I just said SOME of the people here who blindly go around yelling SRR is the greatest of all time often times don't actually know what they're talking about or why. So unless you want to tell me that you qualify as one of those people I mentioned, you need to stop getting butthurt, because I never actually questioned or dissed your idol. And again before you tell me I don't know ****, LEARN TO READ. :good

Wow. Trolling. Robinson was head and shoulders above his peers. AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, he fought his peers so he could be judged fairly acrossed eras. He left no doubt.

He was a much better fighter than everyone else around him. We will never see that type of REAL dominance ever again.

... But of course there will be those boxing fans that claim they "keep it real" "espn said this" ****ing shame.

In fairness, he did miss a couple of guys, like Charlie Burley and Holman Williams. The guys he met were anywhere from good to awesome...but he didn't get the chance to fight everybody.

    That said, your point stands.

Anyone who thinks Robinson isn't the greatest, I'll beat you with the used sparring gloves I have of his.

The funniest thing about this thread is that Inquisitive actually made quite a few good points, and he argued them very well.

A lot to do maybe with more staying as amateurs today? Back then I'd imagine anyone needing a bit of cash could turn pro. That said given the times and popularity of sport, I'm sure there was more boxers overall then.
