I would have prefer Bute-Ward, but since Ward has found a whole bunch of excuses to not fight Bute, Froch-Bute is the best to be made at 168. No other match up would be has exciting, considering the history between the two (calling each other names for few years, Froch beating Pascal, etc.).
go ahead and explain it to someone who already understands whats going on Bute is fighting a guy who just got his ass beat
Feel free to discuss Showtime, HBO, Goosen, Interbox and all around contractual politics with me. :deal *************************** I'm out, I'll see tomorrow morning what you had to say to justify your correlation between "American tv not showing Bute-Froch" and "Bute-Froch is not an important fight". Good luck with your argument, fella.
if the brawler version of Froch turns up, it'll be a foty candidate. if the boxer version of Froch turns up....... he'll be outboxed and would be somewhat boring.
Regarding the version of Froch that may turn up: may i remind you Froch will also have an opponent in ring with him and that the opponent may just have something to say about the version of froch we'll be seeing.
I just wished Bute was healthy enough, and negotiations went well enough to have the fight sooner than May. Bute fought last in Nov, and Carl in Dec. Both would be ready for a March fight if everything was right about the negotiations and their health. Those 2 months will push back Bute next fight till Aug/Sep/Oct and possibly allow him only 2 fights in 2012. I'd like to see Bute negotiating for his next fight already. Be it with Abraham, either D2, Kessler, Steig, or Ward. I know fighters don't like to look past opponents, but in reality, Froch is simply looking for a retirement fight or 2, knowing his fate was sealed the day he agreed to terms with Bute.
Froch is a better brawler than he is a boxer, although he recently he has boxed well against AA and johnson, but against a better, slicker boxer with faster hands, he has next to no chance, like against sog. his only chance, IMO is to turn it into a brawl and fight ugly.
It is, and thank goodness for that. HBO and Showtime are fookin' ******ed for letting this fight slide by. Guaranteed to be a good scrap, IMO.
Will be changing my avatar only on May 27th, for a still of a Bute straight left connecting to Froch's jaw or nose. Pimp C on the other hand will be changing his avatar in the evening of May 26th, for a very nice non-boxing pic of Bute. :smoke
