How excited are you for Jeff Horn's rematch with Michael Zerafa. And where would you rank Jeff Horn amongst the all time greats? Name some other boxers you would put Horn on the same category
Rematch excitement - 4.5 on a scale of ten. He isn't great, but he isn't the lucky bum (who allegedly needs to foul to win) that salty Pac fans make out either. He's a solid, good fighter... average chin, average pop, and average athleticism but higher marks in some of the intangibles, with a physical style that can give some people headaches.
I'm excited for the rematch. The winner will be in line for a world tile shot so it's a fight of significance. With the benefit of hindsight, I think taking the rematch immediately is a mistake. I thought it was the right decision at the time but I don't now. Horn should have challenged for the Australian Middleweight title to get back in the saddle. He should have let Zerafa go to Japan & fight Murata. A win for Horn & a loss for Zerafa would have changed the dynamic of the rematch. As it stands, Horn is going to have fight very well to win against a guy who is in career-best form & full of confidence. People who didn't see the first fight should know that Horn hurt Zerafa badly in about round 3 (after getting dropped himself in the previous round) & then lost momentum at the end of the same round when he was cut. So it wasn't all one-way traffic & he can hurt Zerafa. And the venue is significant. Brisbane ain't Bendigo. It really isn't. In all kinds of sport, you see very different results when people from more southern parts of the country head up north. Where does Horn rank all time? Well he needs to win this one to keep his career going. His win over Pacquiao was epic - no-one gave him much of a chance going in but he got a decision in a close fight fighting at home in front of 50,000 - good for him. If he wants a legacy that extends beyond that one fight against Pacquiao, he needs to beat Zerafa in the rematch. Not sure he can but I'm willing to pay to see him try.
TBE. Up there with Robinson, Armstrong, Langford, Greb. His only modern rivals are Valuev and Nichols.
He is a cheating scumbag bum of a fighter and I am looking forward to seeing him getting smashed again.
