I don't think he'll go above European champion , he looks a solid British champion , but nothing above that
If he carried a good punch he might challange at world level but i think he would struggle at european level. I think Rhodes beats him..
Challenge at world level?:rofl He's doing well to be British champ. Can't see him doin better than that. No power. None. Doesn't really do anything out of the ordinary
He's got pretty good skills if he could bang he would wipe his arse with the domestic bunch, his punch is like a wet flannel..
Euro level fringe world level. Ricky burns has done alright out of winning world title defences by using good boxing skills and not banging them out. He was out of sorts against Carslaw and still managed to win. You'll see the best Brian Rose against Sam Webb and then he will fight for a Euro title. I think Bri has the tools to box Webb and Rabchenkos ears off when he is at his best.
The Sam fight is a good one technically and will tell us alot. Ricky Burns was quite big for 130 and is quite big for 135 and he has speed, stamina and is very durable. Rose, though good technically, has none of these qualities.
Yep. And that's the way it should be - if you want a Lonsdale belt for keeps, you should be looking to take no longer then a year. Activity is the key.
I think it's a bit unfair to say he doesn't have speed stamina or durability. He's had 3 tough 12 round fights, he showed all of these qualities in his first 12 rounders winning the title against Aaron and defending against Maxwell in my opinion. Granted he looks a little stationary at times and can be easy to hit but he is showing good steady progress as he works his way through the ranks. His fight with Sam Webb will make people stand up and take notice.
He said if he had power you ****ing tool, TBH your posts on here are embarrassing to say the least, **** off to the general, you'll feel at home there.
I'm a fan of Rose, he's technically very good and will always be in entertaining fights due to his lack of defense. If he can iron out his defensive flaws in the gym and work on throwing more combo's, then he can definitely move onto the European stage. You've got to remember he's only fought a few British level operators, but he's starting to pick up a bit more experience, now that he's been 12 rounds a few times in fairly tough fights... he needs to work on his concentration, he seems to switch off for a few rounds over the distance.
it's very frustrating to watch him just try and cover up as defence rather than getting out of range or moving his head. Hes got all the tools to go far and have a good career. i just hope his lack of power or defence doesn't come back and bite him on the arse. I'll give him a reaming when he gets back from his holiday
I think he can definitely get to European level then with a bit of improvement who knows. You don't have to KO people to win titles.
He obviously has some but Burns speed tends to be superior to maybe everyone he has ever faced and his duability is tested agains the likes of Katsidis and Martinez. Even pre world class level he showed against Arthur and Johansson that he was durable, just lacking in confidence.
The guys an awful example of a British champion he's very average and has done really well to get to this level but it ends with a loss to Sam Webb
