Well, this ofc is out of prime Usyk for sure and still, Chisora didn't had won this one. If 270 lbs Fury in one fight didn't had stopped Chisora during 12 rounds, then why to demand this from Usyk at 217?lbs? If he will play the same jabbing game only, then Usyk will beat him. Usyk is more skilled in jab fighting than Whyte, Joyce etc like guys. A lot more skilled. Joyce might beat Usyk if he will not rely on jab and Usyk will not be in good shape. Like Usyk in shape he looked vs Whiterspoon he might beat up I think.
Id favor Joyce by UD. I wouldn't say Joyce would batter him though because Whyte can take it too him like Dubois did and Whyte actually has better head movement and is more proven at world level. Joyce can really box no doubt and that heavy jab could really dictate things, but then again Whyte loves going to the body, this could turn the tables. Right now i think Joyce takes it. But stylistically i wouldn't be surprised if Whyte pulled off a win, because from what i can tell his coordination is better than Dubois's
Could be. I wasn't too big on him before his last fight but he looked pretty strong there. Who should he fight next?
I think Joyce should fight Usyk and get his revenge. Now Wilder and Whyte have been taken out, people see Usyk as the third man in the heavyweight division, so by taking out Usyk, Joyce automatically announces himself as the challenger to Joshua and Fury.
No. He's reached as far as he can go NOW. He'll falter against the top boys. But no shame in that. Had a late start & a good run. Usyk , Fury, BLJoshua & Wilder beat him. Probably Whyte, Ortiz & Povetkin too, but Povetkin is at the age where he'll age badly in one single performance soon.. so Joyce could take him if they fought.
I'm not old enough to remember Joe Louis, but I get a strong Joe Louis type vibe from Joyce. I can't explain it. He's not flashy but he's solid and doesn't look overblown at his current weight. I agree that he's a tough nights work for most top tier heavies right now. Based on how he did against Usyk early in his career I like his chances in a rematch. I think he's improved more over the time than has Usyk and he's closed the gap. That, plus the championship distance should give him the time to wear Usyk down.
he can be a solid gatekeeper , maybe even a contender. he should look for a fight against a top 10 and hope to get the payday against joshua/fury, he is too old to be a mainstay .
It wouldnt surprise me if he ended up winning all the belts, he has a good drive and one of the best chins in boxing.
Slow hands, but better footwork, angles and head movement than AJ and his gas tank is much better while being 20 pounds heavier.
