Aydin looks easily out boxed he has good power dropped Bonsu 3 or 4 times in the fight i watched (although the stream was one of the worst i have ever laid eyes on and it was a legal one). From what i have read Aydin is being linked with a fight with Berto. I think Berto would easily out box him. Brook has a few rivals at Euro level in Bonsu, Peterucci (from what i have read is a very tidy boxer) and a couple of Ukrainian guys i haven't seen. A fight against Branco would give a good gauge of how he would do at that level.
Just watched Aydin-Bonsu and Aydin is a crazy ****er (in a good way ). TFFP described Aydin best when he said he was a poor man's Arthur Abraham. That's definitely something I would agree with. Aydin is very square on,keeps his hands up (though his guard isn't always necessarily tight) and then all of a sudden he ****ing explodes throwing hooks, uppercuts and bodyshots. Bonsu's best round was the fifth where he boxed at a picked Aydin off from a distance and really hurt him. In the next round Bonsu left his chin hanging, which Brook does at times, and Aydin countered with a stiff jab and hurt Bonsu. I'd say Aydin is a bit too tough and powerful for Brook atm and would stop him. Aydin isn't world class but if you get him in with the right opponent you could have a real FOTY candidate :fire.
Kel's aready schooled Bonsu in sparring on his own patch. Probably got so disillusioned, that it led to his defeat. Kel's the real deal.
Kell is the real deal, the better the opponent the better he'll be. Only young too so loads more to come. With development and improvement he's a kid that can go to america and win.
I'm a massive fan, and think at the very least he should win an alphabet strap (or two). Having said that I don't he has really been tested as yet. Barrie Jones was game, obdurate and durable but as Richie Woodhall stated he was hardly an evasive target, and barely landed any significant blows on Brook. And although it was widely reported that Jones was robbed against M'baye in his next fight, I still think he is well below British title level. And despite a pair of decent wins over Kevin Anderson, Kevin McIntyre was clearly too vulnerable to provide a stern test. I couldn't believe Boxing News predicted McIntyre to win on points considering his first round losses to Wright and Barnes. Muttley would've been a decent opponent considering he possesses a fair dig, but I still think Brook would've stopped him inside 4. Personally I think his last fight at domestic level should be O'Donnell for the sole reason of acquiring the commonwealth belt. I think Hennessey would be crazy to make this fight as again, because without wanting to sound like some obsessed fanboy, I think Brook stops O'Donnell early. Moving beyond the domestic scene I think Warren should try to move him up the IBF rankings, the two contesting the vacant belt are pretty average from what i've seen. The only danger is that Joshua Clottey still retains a high ranking with the IBf, and might decide that he wants a shot at his old title, as opposed to a rematch with Cotto. Speaking of Cotto, Warren should keep Brook well away from him, for the time being. This might sound ridiculously obvious, but Brook is somehow ranked in the WBO's top 10. Well he is a Warren fighter after all, I suppose.
O'Donnell is the mandatory challenger ordered by the BBBoC to fight the winner of Brook v Lomax, see the British Championship Notices on the BBBoC website. Purse bids to be in by noon 21st July, fight to take place before end of November 2009. However F. W. may decide to go the European or World title route, which in my view would be a shame. I would like to see Kell really clean up in G.B. first, O'Donnell then Jennings and then go for world honours in 2010.
he will be lucky to get past britsh level there are a lot of top fighters like micheal jennings, young mutley, kevin anderson, craig watson ,John O'Donnell who he will lose to or struggle with
I agree, that'd be a terrific fight for Brook to take, get a world ranking and a perfectly easy fight for hi to win. Imo Brook has as much chance of any current British fighter not at world level to get there and be succesful.
He's already better than all the fighters you've mentioned, and already has a lonsdale belt outright. As for the O'Donnell fight, if I had a house, i'd put in on Kell to TKO him inside 2 rounds.
The vacant IBF belt is being contested by Delvin Rodriguez and Isaac Hlatshwayo, both of whom are average at best. The IBF top 15 with the honourable acception of Joshua Clottey is full of pretty ordinary fighters. The reason i'm adamant that Brook should fight for the IBF title in the near future is because Mosley, Cotto and and Berto all have titles, and Mayweather and Pacquiao seem content to roam, seeking out superfights as opposed to titlists. This would leave Brook essentially quite safe to defend a title without having to fight the divisions best until he was ready.
