Solid win for him on the weekend, albeit against poor opposition. Just how far can Tyson Fury's younger sibling go?
There's easier ways for him to make a living given his profile yet he's still sticking to the boxing so there must be something there. Hard to believe he's only 21 and he is being moved slowly so hard for us to make any sort of judgement given the level of competition.
Probably further than what we think. Don’t get me wrong he’s crap but his name will open up opportunities that other fighters won’t get.
Not very far in my opinion. Of course it depends on who is around at the weight domestically in 2-3 years or so, but I would be surprised if he won a domestic title against a British/Euro level fighter. That's not based on the fact he's a part time boxer part time influencer who doesn't need the money it's based on what I have seen of him in the ring so far. If you added another two or three years to his career, just for the sake of experience he would still get eaten alive by todays top 5 British LHW's, and beaten up and stopped by anyone in the top 8-10. I also don't think he's quite as big a draw commercially as some people make out. He was on love island three years ago, and that show is a conveyor belt so any fame from there isn't going to be never ending. It's core fanbase is teenagers and early 20's and I disagree they will automatically follow a boxer's career relentlessly just because he was on that show. Obviously he's Tysons half brother but a couple of years from now when Tyson is retired will there be such a huge curiosity to watch and follow a fairly mediocre relative of his boxing at domestic level against an unknown opponent? Not really, in my opinion.
I don't think he's got the personality or enough about him to cut it as a celebrity, not a bad thing at all and not a sly on him, I just don't think he does what a celebrity of that level needs to do to be marketable. With that in mind it's probably why he's stuck with the boxing, if anything him being an active boxer keeps his celebrity flame burning because the likes of Heat magazine or whatever they're called these days will pick up on what he's doing. It's impossible to make any judgement on how far he goes yet because he's not had any sort of test. When he's in with someone who is game we'll see what he's made of, that chin needs to be tested and so does the gas tank
We will all find out sooner or later... The minute he asks for a dressing table with a mirror to pluck and paint his eyebrows....
Probably further than people think. Think i,ve only seen one of his fights tho. But they,ll train him hard. Heard john saying he was staying with him and they we,re training him twice a day etc. Not a lot of heavys or whatever he is have that luxury...a lot of them basically do it part time as an add on to their job. Its little wonder hes blowing these guys away. Not just that but you,d think john and co have picked up a good bit of knowledge of the game over the years...the contacts made...sparring they can get etc. Even just information/tips off tyson etc. Even guys at british level can be/are part time fighters. Think john mcdermott had a job for example. Actually wonder how many british heavys are actually full time fighters nowadays...probably not many. Price, chisora, joyce, dubois, huey fury the higher guys...whyte, aj, tyson fury. How many more? Pretty sure guys like sam sexon had a job. Probably training after a hard days graft at night mostly. Maybe few weeks full time training. These types of guys will probably start finding it hard against guys like tommy giving time. A few years down the line. Not saying he,d best sexon or mcdermott...but you can defo see how these types of guys will start finding it hard against a guy that should be stronger/fitter than them etc. Obviously not sexon or mcdermott as pretty sure their both retired...but these level of guys maybe higher giving time. Thinks hes missed a lot of boxing tho growing up etc...but boxing is kind of becoming a lot about sports science anyway. The bigger/stronger they can get them...the better chance they have. A bit like eubank junior...it doesnt come naturally to him but he,s worked harder to get him to the level hes got to. Wont get as far as eubank junior tho...hes worked incredibly hard to get as far as he has.
Nothing solid about that win, lets be real here Tommy is an attraction used by Warren to bring in a few casual fans and non fans Its probably a smart move financially and numbers wise but i doubt he will ever challenge for any belts that are worthwhile
The best Warren can do is feed him cream puffs for another 15 fights. Then very carefully build him through into an area title and British title fight. All the while exploiting his TV profile and reality TV connections to get new eyeballs onto the shows. That would be my plan.
Pretty much this He isn't worth risking a loss if he brings new non fans Whilst doing so, access him and decide if he can move on up
