I know theres losts of posts out there about this but I want to ask a question to those who really know their boxing and who watched Abril vs Rios.
Abril only lost a few fights in the ameteurs and he had more than a couple hundred fights so we know this kid can fight and has serious skill.

All 3 of his losses have been on split decision and apparently the 2 losses before this were also contravertial..

Has any one seen his previous fights and were they also robbery??

If this poor kid had not been robbed and hard done by in all his losses how far could he have gone and how far can he go??

I have to say i was seriously impressed with this guy and I can see this guy giving fits to some of the top light welters out there.

there is various opinions on the other two fight, personally I think he won them both, the Prescott loss was alot closer to an actual loss than Lundy, but Rios takes the cake.

Abril can take Hagler as an example and keep on going

He won the event this weekend so he'll be fine. He was robbed out of the money and the title however he will be treated as if he won in alot of ways.
He has been moved up the rankings by the Ring Magazine, he will get a big name fight next probably for a title.

I've got a feeling he will have a good career. I'd tip him to beat number one rated lightweight Demarco.

I think he can be outboxed by fighters and outworked by others. However his impressive inside defece and long reach will make him a nightmare for pressure fighters.

There's a good chance he also becomes an avoided fighter after this weekend, and struggles to get a fight for the next 12 months.
