It seems like he was stuck in threw Hopkins fights.. He never matured as a fighter, or improved... I kept thinking damn, he looked better before hee won the belt..

Eventually his chin would have failed him miserably....better that it did vs a top fighter like Pavlik than by a heavy handed Clevel guy with no future.:D

WELL besides pavlik i dont feel there were all that many really credible threats to him at 160 at that time , maybe pantera but i feel taylor would have out boxed him , imo he beats sturm in a tough fight on nuetral ground , i feel he would have been lineal champ for a few years

Eventual spanking at the hands of Joe Calzaghe, then back to 160 and eventually gets stopped by Sergio Martinez.

Sooner or later the East European slickness called Arthur Abraham would have caught up with him och it would have been lights out.

I think he would have stayed at mw and would still be mw champ imo. I think Taylor would beat Martinez. Not having those brutal knockouts from Pavlik, Froch and Abraham would have left him a lot fresher. By now he would be looking like a great mw champion.

He beat Hopkins because this version of Hopkins exists in the ring off the mistakes you make. Taylor gave him very little to work off. He stayed patient and worked away behind his jab which was enough to neutralize Hopkins. Hopkins got marooned on the outside with little mistakes to capitalize on. Pavlik just style just exploited his greatest weakness.........stamina. Same story with Froch. If not Froch, Pavlik, it would of happened down the road imo.

he was very good. teh best mw in the world. he jsut happened to meet pavlik and teh styles clashed in his detriment. all in all he was very good but sooner or later he would have lost at mw.

He was made in HBO labs to be their next cash cow and Hopkins was used as the sacrificial lamb hence his (Taylors) two gifts but once he lost to Wright (but somehow got another draw) his time was up and there was nothing better then seeing the glass jawed fraud brutally KO'd......TWICE.
