How far could Kenny Egan have gone as a pro?

Not very. Euro level before he got clobbered. Mentally weak as **** which is a big no, no if you want to be an elite level fighter. He was great at the Olympics but the amount of times he bottled it in qualifiers or smaller tournaments is mind boggling. I think he only got to Beijing in the final qualifier too

would have lovin to see him pro
think he wouldve got to at least challenge for a world title
now hes the 2nd best light heavy in ireland and doesnt look good for him in regards to going to the olympics
and bambam he done it when it mattered so i dont think he is dat mentally weak

 

as bam bam said not there mntally. Also I dont think his style would have suited the pros. We saw in the nationals this year that he struggles with raw aggression and pressure type fighters

 

Yeah dont think his style would of suited the pro's. I mean technically he is decent. I reckon he would of picked up a european strap and maybe get within top 10 of his division, possibly challenging for a world strap....

 

He would have been a decent pro. Good skills but as others have said he is mentally weak. I though he should have went pro after the Olympics.

 

It showed when he was offered so many deals after the Olympics that he had no plans what so ever of turning pro. Then the limelight after the games went to his head big time. Imagine if he did turn pro he would be his own worst enemy. He missed his chance but seems happy in the WSB.

 

Bollox. his style would have suited the pros , he boxed in the WSB and was sitting down on his punches , stopped a big brazillian lad in his last fight , dropped him with a beautiful left and looked the part , he would have at least challenged for a world title imo but i agree with bambam he hasnt got it upstairs were it matters most in the pros .

Roberto Camarrelle is my biggest miss from that Olympics IMO. He looked class.

 

could be a future p4p imo , have you seen his latest fights on youtube , they way he handles world senior medalists in that felix stamm tourney in Poland is unreal for a 17 year old , he has it all imo and I think he will be Irelands first world seinior amateur champion .

Hit the Chinese lad with a load of scoring combinations, got **** all... the Chinese lad landed plenty of rabbit punches and the scoreboard was in overdrive.

The holding and running was BS too.

 

Yep man what a waste Sutherland's dearh was man .He was a pure gent tae man .Complete opposite as a Tyson I think .Sad now he's buried .I would love to see how he'd be doing today tae man .In with Degale Groves .Would he be Commonwealth champion ? Gutted , waste .Got to feel us hardcore boxing fans have defintley been robbed of a prospect !!!!

I remember egan threw two connected punches and the Chinese lad got the point without doing anything, absolutely bizarre....
