How far could Ross Puritty have gone?

    agree . I actually pick him 2 beat Morison . by stoppage if it's a 12 rounds fight .

    Having a good chin could carry you pretty far in the heavyweight division. The bottom line was Purrity wasn't very good. Sort of a poor mans Oliver Mcall. These guys win their biggest fights by their ability to hang around and weather the storm. I don't think he could have done much more than he did.

    McCall was a right hand puncher and Puritty a hook&uppercut puncher , quite different .

    Thats not the point I was making. The point is Purrity had less skills than Mcall but his chin allowed him to hang around and win fights he shouldnt have just like Mcall.
