I just do not buy this at all, not one bit. Sounds suspiciously like a myth propagated by people in pro wrestling in order to maintain its image in older fans' eyes of being a real sport, which it ain't. The sheer fakeness of prancing around in a leotard and pretending that dropping to a canvas mat feels like falling down a well onto shards of broken glass just cannot be anywhere even remotely close to the genuine exertions of hitting, getting hit, the extreme mental toll of fighting, and pushing your body through fatigue. It's probably marginally more taxing than more conventional acting, such as those in 'Lost' may feel once a season has been filmed.

Some fighters are just born with weak punch resistance. I tend to think Chicken Legs Lesnar was one of these fighters. Plus he seems to have grown up with the bully mentality, as most big physical phenoms do. Those guys never like getting hit.

    Once again - cool.

I'm A-OK with being disliked because I believe two 40 year old men wearing pants throwing their heads back so their mullets fly around in the air to give the impression they have been punched is without question the most pathetic, ****ed up, pointless, moronic dog**** ever witnessed by any human being ever.

    A-OK. :good

A peace offering from the monumentally physically gruelling art of pro wrestling/poor acting while wearing fake tan, rock out with your **** out:

You're entitled to your opinion, but it's very contradictary to be an MMA fan and hate pro wrestling. It's the same stubborn mindset as MMA haters who are like "oh those ***gots roll around on the ground its gay". You have no respect for pro wrestling and just don't get it, that's fine. But the stubborn idiocy of people when it comes to things they can't just say "it's not for me" instead of waffling on about the same stereotypical shite is very annoying. Pathetic, almost.

:yikes Of course it isn't. Of course it isn't. MMA is real. WWE is fake. How the **** can it be contradictory to love a real sport involving courage and skill, and detest a soap opera featuring big men with mullets in thongs wearing fake tan and some of the hammiest acting this side of The Cosby Show? That's the least contradictory thing I've ever heard. WWE is the ****ing antithesis of MMA. It's completely ****ed in the head to like both of them! :nut

Because it's the same level of failure to understand. It's not about which is real and which is fake. People who can't understand it rail against it and say "lol its gay its so ****" etc because they don't get it. You don't get professional wrestling, you see it from the boring stereotypical (and incorrect) side of "men in underpants, they're all on steroids", and you'll never see past it. That's what I mean.

And the whole UFC thing is born out of professional wrestling, it takes a lot of stuff from it. Mainstream MMA is professional wrestling without the scripted finishes. Fact. And there's nothing ****ed in the head of liking MMA and professional wrestling, many people do.

Jesus, I can't keep having these annoying arguments with ignorant people, it's so tiring.

Good point Flash. Most these guys in Japan even legends like Saku, Funaki has been a part of pro wresling at one point or another. If Im not mistaken Takada, Ricksons opponent in Pride 1 was a pro wrestler.

Honestly man, you're the ignorant one here.

How the **** you can equate in any way a sport to a fake theatre is mind-boggling. :nut

Pro wrestling is staged theatrics. MMA is a sport. They could not be more different.

But I'm fine to leave it here, because in my opinion anyone who enjoys WWE (unless they are under 13 years old, at which time it is A-OK, much like Santa Claus) is a complete braindead cretin so talking to you about it would be like discussing the beauty of a Mozart concerto with a deaf person.

By the way, try not to generalise professional wrestling, you're railing against American mainstream WWE type entertainment, your insults are around 20 years out of date too, but you're too stubborn to research your points anyway. There's a lot of different types of wrestling, and of course it's not a ****ing sport, it is entertainment. It's a show, a glorified circus act, but that doesn't mean it's gay. I'll give props to guys who can do what Mistico can do, I'll give props to guys with technical skill like Bret Hart or Kurt Angle who tell stories in the ring, there's a side to entertainment you don't see in combat sports like you do in wrestling, it's pure theatre but this whole boring steroids tanned men who take steroids thing is so ancient and wrong it's unbelievable.

Oh, and the fact that you judge people by what they watch gives you no grounds on calling other people ignorant. You don't have to like one thing or the other, people can be entertained by wrestling and MMA without being braindead idiots. But you just stick to your stereotypes.

Dos Caras Jr. fought too, and got absolutely bladdered against Cro Cop. That's why Alberto Del Rio will never get over in my mind. :yep

It's contradictory to love the art of MMA, but think this is a steaming pile of Hulk-turd, made for children and loved only by ******ed man-children?

Give me a ****ing break. :nut

This is like someone writing eloquently about why farting is funny. It sounds as if you are saying something meaningful, if it wasn't for the fact that we know you are referring to this sort of horribly embarrassing nonsense:

Which of course makes it utterly nonsensical for you to say loving MMA but deriding WWE is contradictory. Of course it is anything but.

    You.

    And once again.

Not to mention trying to point out the worst of it.
