For the last 15 years I would go to friend's parties for big ppv fights, mostly heavyweight fights featuring Tyson, Holyfield, and Lewis. I really didn't have a clue about the sport on a real level. About a month ago or so I watched a replay on HBO of the Cotto/Margarito fight and I was hooked. I am now trying to soak up all of the information that I can on the sport.

86, Watching Tyson demolish Berbick with my dad. I was 10 years old. Even as a child the guy captured my attention.

Mind you, same year, Hulk Hogan achieved the same thing.

Was a casual fan in the prime Tyson era (SPinks fight), i became then more interested with the local stuff here (Hilton-Ouellet (1998) trilogy comes to mind) then really became kind of hardcore fan with the Gatti-Ward Trilogy. Since then, there is not week that pass without me downloading fights i haven't see. So, i could say that i got hooked by the blood bath and then learned to love the more subtile and technical part of the sweet science.

As an off-and-on, fringe casual fan...twenty-plus years, since I was little and my dad taught me to spar. I remember Tyson-mania and Eargate, etc.

As someone who made a point to catch as many HBO WCB broadcasts as possible...from Barrera-Hamed on (never branched out into Showtime/ESPN or the Latino channels during this period, and fell mostly out of touch for a couple of years) - I'd seen Hamed a few times prior to this and prayed that someone would do what was ultimately done; his dismantling was the most epic and badass thing I'd yet witnessed in sports. :ibutt

As an absolute ring junkie who makes a concerted effort to never miss a nationally televised fight (and throws a temper tantrum when circumstances demand it), since late 05/early 06, and have hardly missed any major PPV since Morales-Pac II.

I remember seeing, Benn, Eubank, watson,Mclellen etc fights, and being hooked on Benns attitude towards his foes. Wasnt till later on that i started to learn about the history of it all, finding out the big names that have shaped the sport. I didnt realize how close Benn and Duran came to fighting till the other day!!

First fight I watched was Tyson Vs Douglas. I bet my uncle a whole 2 dollers! I was 11 years old. I lost my savings that night but I fell in love with the sport after that. Tried to keep up as much as could but we didn't have cable at my house. It wasnt till I was 16 that I started to watch again. Now I watch as much as I can, whenever I can. I love Boxing!!!!!!:happy
