How would Lyle, as we knew him, be doing in today's era? Would he be making headlines? Would he be in the mix with Fury, Wilder, AJ and Usyk? Would he be a victim of one of those 4? What is Ron Lyle doing?

I think the Big 4 all beat him. Usyk and Fury schools him and AJ and Wilder stop him but have to get up to win.

He would be in Whyte's position, maybe even hold a belt.

He's always gonna be a near man, not quite skilled enough, smart enough, strong enough, or fast enough...but he will give some guys a tough fight and push them to the brink, he has a decent shot at contenders more vulnerable than himself, but will never break too far from the pack.

People over think this. There have been some weird moments where the top 10 was mostly crap (1995) really no era has been so consistently weak or so strong that near men will be anything else.

We must focus on the genuine difference between eras such as the multiple world titles, and scheduling.

People tend to pick the the 10 best fighters from an entire era and think that every year was that strong. In reality theres usually 4 to 5 guys in the top 10 rankings who arent anything special.

Anyone who weighs over 200lbs, is a bit athletic, has good management and most importantly, has deep pockets, could win a belt...

In this era?... He grabs a belt for sure. At least for a little while.

Joshua, Usyk, and Fury beat him and would do it easier than most people in the classic think. Lyle beats Wilder, Whyte and probably Parker

He'd knock the bejesus out of AJ but lose the rematch. So, definite title holder.

Fury would have UD'd him for sure.
