No americans just live in the past
No cause this is sport, this is not art nor music. Newer almost always equals better. And yes i firmly believe that gyms in the united states are just stuck in the 20th century and just dont want to accept the fact that boxing ,the way it is taught in latin america and russia, superior is to the way they teach that in the us nowadays. Its the typical way of american boxing arrogance to claim that the talent pool is not as good as it used to be or that the boxing scene in the united states is not as good as it used to be. Boxing has just evolved nobody gives a damm about the american kindergarten championsships of the 70s, its international now you got mexicans fighting kazaks, you got africans fighting russians, Latvians vs cubans and you guys are talking about some old american grandpas.

 What a twisted and bias way of looking at things.
Modern boxers might be more versatile, or even better, but that doesn't mean that one can't learn from the past.
And you can believe that American's live in the past if you want to, it doesn't make it a fact.

No it is not bad to look at the past, thats not what i am saying. But the way alot of americans view boxing is simply ridiculous nostalgia in a view that is limiting you. Of course a lot of americans live in the past. Look at all the people in the US that can not deal with the facts that american hegemony has ended. What was the whole voting campaign of trump again?

Wtf does this have to do with Trump? **** it, don't answer that. It will lead to a pointless rabbit hole.

But if you think that boxing in rest of the world has evolved, and Americans are living in the past, then sure; you can believe that.
    But it's not the reality.
It is true that there is a lot more competition out there. Boxing truly has become a global sport. And thus the competition has stiffened. But the American boxing scene is not where it is because they didn't evolve.

Four of my top 10 aren't ATG's (although their skillsets are lauded). The other 6 are all considered ATGs.

Roy, Toney, Hagler, Hearns, Nunn, Dawson, Norris, Whitaker, Leonard, Winky,
Tyson (not so much a fan, but I'd say he's in my top 11 definitely)

I do think so. Most americans stick to the same fighting style that has been around for decades now. Guys like loma, ggg or kova have a mix style while having a way better amateur background. I generally am not surprised with the whole situation cause you got plenty of people on here and in the us that firmly believe that guys like frazier would defeat the klitschkos, fury or wilder. I learned boxing around russians and most of them just dont really give a damm about legacy and stuff.
