For a mega fight Canelo must have put on one of the worst performances I've ever seen.

Lead feet, no work rate, no defence no punching ability.

What was he even doing in there with Mayweather???

Oscar needs to find another fighter that knows how to read blueprints.

He didn't go down at all.

He is exactly what i thought he was. A very talented, ambitious, young fighter with excellent skills.

No shame in losing to Floyd and he boxed well. He was competitive the whole way through even though he didn't win many rounds.

He has a bright future if he goes back and continues to work on his craft.

He has not gone down at all. Now he is where he should be in the first place

People just need a better eye and judgement for talent

Agree. Still learning. Came out of this fight virtually unscathed and the lessons learned here will help him tremendously!

very few, if anyone, below 154 beats him and he'll do great vs most of
    the top 10 Middles.

Good post. Only thing I disagree with is that I think his stock went up due to the decent performance and the notoriety he gained.

Canelo is NOT still learning. He's in his prime RIGHT NOW, and what we see from him right now is what we get.

I think he slipped behind Leo Santa Cruz and Mikey Garcia as the leads for Mexico's next generation of guerreros.

he didn't go down, he is so young and improving with every fight. fighting mayweather gave him big time experience. he should fight at 154. lets be honest, who can and would look good against mayweather? his style is a nightmare for anyone.

Alvarez gave a good account of himself and was more competitive with Mayweather than anyone recent of note. That deserves some respect.

Mayweather showed everyone that you have to be first when fighting Canelo ,if you study his fights just about all of Canelo opponents waited for him. And if goes to middle weight he's got another 3 or 4 losses coming on his record.
