He was at the same stage as Morales when Morales fought Manny for the first time He's since fought and KOd Casamayor and Diaz He got tagged a lot in both fights (and of course hit a lot in the second Manny fight) So he's somewhere between slightly past it and past it, where exactly we'll find out soon enough
If Juan Diaz had a decent punch Marquez would have got stopped. He is past his prime, not fighting in his best weightclass and is sadly going to get pounded when he meets Mayweather. Barrera was past it when he met marquez.Casa was way past it when he met Marquez. And yet Marquez had problems with these 2 boxers.
..........The first time overt signs of slippage in speed and reflexes started to show up was the Jimrex Jaca fight. Kellerman and Steward were all over Marquez talking about how much slower he looked, ect. This is exactly the way I recall it.
^^This^^ Tho as proven by Hopkins....ect Depends on the type of lifestyle they live outside the ring aswell. JMM seems to take care of himself well.
Maybe slightly past it, but what is more important that he's past his ideal weight, he looked the best at 126 and got pushed back by Diaz at 135. He doesn't put on weight very well, he's no PacMan or Floyd to jump up weight without risks. Fighting at 147 will have more negative effects than being really past it, because it's one thing you'll be slower and less powerful than before, but the opponent will be 3 divisions stronger. JMM deserves better than that.
