How Far Will David Haye Go In The Heavyweight Division?

He'll win and loose in spectacular fashion when against the top heavies.
Wlad would kill him for reasons that should allready be abundantly clear, so I think whilst he may not be that successfull at heavy, he will be great fun.

 

Put him in there with David Tua or Wlad and he will end up as the british Apollo Creed. A guy that was almost knocked out by a journeyman 168 pounder named Lolenga Mock is risking his life if he faces a big puncher. Even Audley Harrison's chin is better than Haye's I'm afraid. Haye should starve himself to 200 pounds.

 

i cant see anyone beating haye at heavyweight.......

so he's gonna pull a Holyfield when he moves up at da least...

 

i think haye will be ok as a heavy and will be a contender.

needs a few fights to get used to fighting the bigger men before he is stepped up but i see him as doing fine .

he will be in against men who are slower than what he is used to.

he will be in against men who throw less punches so his punch output and stamina will not come into play so much.

he definatley will not be weight drained .

 

He'll be an exciting addition to the Heavyweights.

My one fear is that he'll see this as a chance to get fat and lazy.

 

I can see his career being alot like Lennox Lewis, when on top form no one will stop him but he could get careless and not train properly and end up getting knocked out.

I think the questions about his stanima have now gone, the ones about his chin can stay but he had to drain to make that weight, look at the punches Cotto took Saturday, because he was at his natural weight he could take them! He has gotta keep his left hand up as well!

I would have him over any H.W apart from Peter, Wlad and Vitali Klitschko and maybe Valuev due to size!

He has a huge punch, fast, great style, great look, showman - vulrable - everything the divison needs!

 

He is far to arrogant to let himself get out of shape!

 

A lot of these heavies these days, even certin champions who shall remain nameless, are actually fat cruisers in the first place.

Stay away from Walddy, and he should ahve a chance.

 

Thats why he has a decent chance at heavyweight because there are no top level fighters in that category ! lol

 

Cottos chin seems to have improved once he moved up a weight class, maybe Hayes improves as well. It would help though if he kept his hands up

 

I believe Haye's obscene weight draining efforts contribute to his 'chin' problems. But also the ridiculous low guard means he gets hit flush far more than he should. He has enough speed, accuracy and power to ktfo of a lot of the ponderous giant heavies, but questionable chin or not, you cant go all the way with the lack of a guard.

 

In todays division anything is possible.

 

yeah I agree with flux. Give him a handful of fights to get used to the weight, and I really cant see anyone other than Wlad, maybe Povetkin and Solis, touching him. And I'll tell ya this, he's probably got a better chance of beating Wlad than just about anyone out there. He's the only one with the right combination of power and speed to do it, apart from maybe Solis, but Solis is an unknown quantity at the moment, we really dont know how seriously he's taking his career and how good he'll be as a pro.

 

he really reminds me of shannon briggs in the nineties... fast, strong, questionable chin, not to mention too enamored with his own good looks,
i doubt he ever holds more than a piece of the heavyweight championship
