Im a hometown fan and i know all the fighters and have been in the ring with most of them i just want to know what everyone thinks of new england fighters? and the person i really want to have your thoughts about is Matt Too Smooth Godfrey? he is and great person to know and a hell of a boxer! i think he has what it takes to get the belt. do you think he has what it takes? and who would you like him to see fight next?
jason beat him in the ammys.....he just had a fight the other night at mohegan but im pretty sure he is out of ca i will have to check.....he is a big boy soild at 277
He's certainly a big unit. I'd be interested to see how he's going now. I saw one of his fights live a year or two ago, it wasn't particularly impressive.
I was at the fights....but because Mohegan doesnt know how to print the start time on a ticket...or make an adequate sign with the correct start time....or correctly fill out a header with already stated CORRECT START TIME....I didnt end up heading to my seat until around 730pm (WHEN THE FREAKING TICKETS, ONLINE SITE, SIGNS ALL OVER THE CASINO, LIGHT UP HEADER AT THE ARENA, ETC ALL SAID THE START TIME WAS!!!)...so when I got there, it was already a ways through the Martinez fight, which coincidently was the 5th fight of the night! Which meant I missed the Tupou fight. Good job MOHEGAN!!! (I did a funny little recap of my night in a post the next day...check it out... http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69661&highlight=terrible+camera ) And as for beating him in the ams....Cotto lost to Abdulaev in the ams...and Antonio Tarver is considered one of the best amateur fighters ever. So that tells ya how much stock I put in that.
