How far would Tommy Morrison have gone if he wasn't caught for aids in 1996?

Everywhere. knees/shoulder/back/hands/neck. pretty much at every joint and unlike other people, I do not buy into the surgeries improve things for boxers argument---it's a subtraction. How many subtractions can a guy like Morrison sustain?

Was it from damage sustained during the Hipp fight, or did he have hand problems even beyond that fight?

 

He went as far as he was ever going to go.....the body can only handle so many steroids, drugs and alcohol before it starts falling apart.....Morrison was powerful steroids have no effect on power he had what I call a store bought body so he could handle the big heavyweights but wasn't built to handle the abuse and he wasn't very durable to begin with.

His money making was entirely tied to his ability and power and him being white there were better fighters than him.

 

I think if hadn't gotten sick, and took it as seriously as he had when he was coming up, he would have dropped lennox Lewis and became the champ

 

We already saw what his level was. He would have gotten the Tyson payday, tyson would have destroyed him and from then on he would have been a fringe contender, maybe holyfield wozld have fought him instead of bean but there would have been no reason for a Lewis rematch so his chances for a title shot after 1999 would have been very very slim

 

There's maybe a good shot of him getting a fight against a Klitschko brother in 99 or 2000. I don't see him winning against either brother.

Bollocks. He took Lewis seriously and was in shape for that fight. It was an important fight for both men at the time. The outcome would be the same every time. Tommy was food and drink for someone like Lewis. Which we witnessed.

Strength and power are different...power is innate and can be maximized with training and technique but you have what you have. Steroids only affect muscle not bone, tendon or ligament strength.....

 

That was one of his more serious performances, Morrison just wasnt a great fighter. He always had bad timing, and would be easy pickings for a guy like Lewis.

Morrison just never demonstrated enough to be favored with any confidence over higher level fighters, hes even a toss up against lower tier ones, like I wouldnt be confident picking him over the McCall Bruno beat.

 

Steroids affect to the bones too.the testosterone increases the density of the bone,the growth hormone too.also if you have a bigger mass of muscle you increase your hitting power. You don't need big bones or great tendon strength to hit hard. With speed and good mass of muscles you translate it in hitting power
