How good a boxing analyst are you, out of 10?

I knew I should've picked Casamayor the minute Atlas said he felt Katsidis would win....

 

My gut tells me Williams will fight a smarter fight and win. However, Quintana matches up well with Williams. That's a tough one.

 

The only bad pick there is the Kessler pick(I made the same mistake). I should've realised that a guy who relies so much on his jab and who doesn't have much in the way of offensive variety would never beat a southpaw with the skillset of Calzaghe.

IMO Kessler figured out Calzaghe's style advantage by ulitilizing his right hand and letting Joe come to him. but what i didn't expect was that Calzaghe would be able to step back and be so effective from the outside and with his jab. its Joe's adaptability that i underrated

Oh and guys, Williams is going to get schooled again, there is nothing that hype job can do against any reasonable top 5 fighter. Expect it to be worse than last time with Quintana stamina improvements.

 

My official pick was Casamayor TKO 9, forgot about that one, it was a fair pick.

Calzaghe TKO 8 was horrible.

I had Marquez over Pac, don't feel I got that wrong, feel the judges got that wrong, as Pac did not do enough to win.

I had Marquez over Vasquez.

Can't remember some others. Wlad KO 3 ****ed me out of my vCash, but in fairness, Klit was capable of putting the limited Ibragimov away had he come out to do so.

 

If that post came across as me questioning your credibility, then make no mistake I AM. I don't doubt that he has probably picked some great upsets here and there, and i don't think you are a flat out liar. But to try and make claim that he never gets one wrong is pretty damn silly. How about for the big fight league you get some of his picks up BEFORE the matches occur, and we can make judgement for ourselves. If he can get every BIG fight correct for a period of 6 months, i will leave the board for good, before hand though going to every forum, declaring myself an idiot and giving you credit for your victory. Deal???

I think that while you're probably right that some here have underrated themselves to get a compliment (I doubt you think that of me since you know from my Lounge posts that I don't particularly care what others think of me) and others have overrated themselves due to ego, I also think you're a bit of a cynic. Some people have positive things to say about others and their opinion simply differs from yours. It's not all BS, though some may be.

I won't rate other posters on their fight picking ability. All I know is that Northend tends to be at the top of a few fight prediction leagues. So he must be good at it. I haven't seen his name mentioned here.

 

My credibility is not the issue, it's Magnum's, I am already exposed as much less than perfect and not deserving of the arrogance that I put forth sometimes.

You really have no idea, he said last year, around March, that Dawson would be troubled by Johnson the most and I asked for further explanation and he layed everything out as it went in the damn fight, save for Dawson getting hurt, he didn't call that.

I said he's picked some wrong winners. What I said is that he never has called how the fight would go wrong, he always got those correct, the variables he listed out happened at 100% proficiency and his fight plans/layouts did as well.

When I was doing my fight league last year, he joined late and scored a record high amount for a new starter, his predictions were near spot on by the round.:yep

I'm not looking to get anything out of this, Magnum is one of my online buddies, what does it have to do with me. I'm just letting you all know who the most knowledgable poster to ever post at this site is and how we're all children in the analysis game by comparison.

I had the same predictions I believe, so some of them I don't feel I messed up too bad. Though I did predict Calzaghe to dominate Hopkins en route to corner stoppage in 9. atsch

 

TFFP is at the top of Kirk's, then I'm the #1 contender and about to take over.:good

Huki won mine last year, by a very wide margin, 100 points I believe. I was at #3 by the end, 2nd I don't remember, possibly Zakman...
