I understand reaction time to be the detonator or trigger in starting the offensive pattern, if a person can react 0.1 faster than another he or she will have a defensive or offensive advantage by at least 100cm@30mph depending on the speed of their movements respectively.

It's much more important to recognize the pattern up front. But of course it matters, it's just very debatable whether it's trainable by throwing or catching a ball because it's situation specific.

I recognise the limitation of just the reflex on it's own without the correct reaction, but my understanding is if you can speed you mind ability to process information then everything seems to slow down even though real time has not changed, in which case you could do what ever you want and some boxers seems to be able to do that, RJJ being a fine example.

Some people claim time slows down for them when they switch off, the only problem is they also slow down, if they didn't then I could see this as being something similar to fighting a person who was moving in a slow motion rate or 1/2 speed, Buddhists talk about this time smear but without the fighting context, I'm wondering if any high level boxers meditate at all?

You should try and get under 0.200 of a second, you can consider this fast, if you get below 1.6 as an average your extremely quick, like a deadly gun slinger, anything around 0.100 and you have the reflexes of a snake, anything below would mean your brain is timing travelling signals forward into your brain.

    Faster than yours.

On a more serious note, I am quick and slick, and have good head movement..

Never tested it in anyway besides to avoid a punch..(Or a ball(drills))

You can test it below by playing the game in the link, it only takes 20 odd seconds.

How good are your reactions when you can't see the person who wants to hit you? I was told by Kenji Tokitsu this is not a mystical ability, yet I don't know anybody who can perform this ability at will., The Book of Five Rings talks about this yet it's hard to understand without actual instruction from a person.

1.85 average, I was actually faster when I didn't think instead of when I was expecting it.

"Empty your Mind" By Bruce Lee which is not his but made famous by him, when you do not think you can react faster than when you anticipate is the whole point, some say this is why animals can react with super fast reflexes as they are by passing the Neocortex or Neopallium or basically all the non essential parts of the brain the faster and more effective your brain will be at controlling your body, so having the ability to not feel emotion, pain, fear will enhance your reaction times.

I dont really think a good score on the online computer test would translate into better boxing or other sport reflexes. Theyre so different that I just cant see it mattering much.

Most neurological adaptations are very specific to the movement involved. Joint angle, speed of motion, range of motion, etc. Specificity is a ***** eh.

Of course this test does not mean anybody will become at better boxer, it is only the starting point, just as a great start in a 100 meter sprint does not mean you will cross the line first, all movement is a series of links yet you must not see them or perform them as links but as one motion, there is no combinations, only your will and reactions, having a tight ship game means no holes.

i use music to help with my timing...another thing is to do what i call, "slow motion sparring"...so when the real thing comes, ur reflexes are already there...
