Too low IQ. He has everything else, but he lacks IQ. That's a problem, because IQ is really hard to fix.
His limitations were obviously exposed last night, but I do want to say that he seems to have been a good sport in defeat. I wish all the best - he's still a top 10 fighter and can still be in fun fights for sure.
He's still a tough out for a lot of guys, but his somewhat one-dimensional approach and limited adaptability will be an issue against cerebral boxers with the courage and technical competencies to exploit the holes in his game.
Tell me about it lol I know its a different type of IQ but mine has been stuck at 120 forever...even after I joined Wikipedia to learn more and write about boxing.. Or, as they say, you cannot teach an old dog lol
Exposed is the right word, the commentary team even said it. Fact is he lost to a C lister in Ananyan, won and defended his titles against fighters who are not top 10 or even probably top 20 and the first guy who didn't just stand and trade, beat him and did so by out working him which is meant to be his forte. I'm not even sure he's really top 10, he needs to actually fight better opposition to prove he's really top 10.
I still don't think he is fighting to his potential; it takes him far too long to get going in a given fight, and his prime attributes (power, pressure and stamina) could be applied much more effectively. I would like to see him possibly change trainer, someone like Robert Garcia would be ideal.
