How good could Fat Boy Meehan have been if he applied himself?

Just curious as to what your take is on him. Though I'm limited in my knowledge of old time fighters, Meehan immediately strikes me as a character- here you have someone who was good enough to get wins over Dempsey, Langford, and Jack Dillon, but absolutely despised roadwork and really any altering of his lifestyle prior to fights. Adding to the uniqueness is that he might be the only person to ever fight from flyweight to heavyweight and was basically the original King of the 4 Rounders- like a weird cross between James Toney and Butterbean.

So, my original question remains- How good could Meehan have been if he had genuinely applied himself to the training side of things?

Meehan would not have beaten the above men in longer high stakes fights. Meehan prefected the four round fight. He was flabby, but the type who could absorb punches, moved and boucned well, covered up well, and scored with counters without really hurting his opponent. I think he cliched well too.
