Well, he lost but was well on his way to winning at the time.

That's every bit as much a self-kicking, :patsch moment as Briggs-Liakhovich.

    Protect yourself at all times...

If Lewis' chin is made of glass, then how do you explain him taking multiple hard shots from Klitschko, Mercer, Bruno, Mason and Tua? Its valid to say that he was decked by McCall and Rahman, but he rose after the McCall knockdown only to be stopped, and Rahman stopped him when he was 35 years old.. to be clear, I don't think the man has a great chin, but I also think its a tad over simplified to say that he can't take a shot..

Holmes, who it took peak/prime Tyson to knock out...and who was never stopped again despite staying in the game another decade and a half? Really, that's the basis of your argument for McCall not packing a wallop? :-(

I'm sorry none of the names of his KO victims impress you, but it's pretty clear to anyone who's seen enough of him that McCall punched pretty damn hard in his day...hell, even now I'd hesitate to give him a freebie for a year's pay.

I guess we have to agree to disagree.......Tyson, Foreman, Holy, Bowe to name a few could take a flush shot on the button and were able to continue or able to getting up to fight on where Lemmie is not even in the same zipcode in regards to that, lol, the proof is in the pudding, once down he ain't getting up , FACT.

Team Lewis /Steward knew this all along and matched him properly with tailormade grade B/C fighters or totally spend old war horses. Similar to what PAC is doing today...a cheerleading HBO squad certainly helps.

THe whole thing backfired when what they saw as a easy push over, VK, actually fought back and Lemmie could not overpower him aka he met someone of his own size , got away with a controversial win and then retired.........

BTW, VK is not a heavy puncher by all means, he will grind you down but he ain't making you see stars.

Is it really? He got up against McCall, but the fight was stopped.. Same way the fight was stopped when Tyson stumbled to his feet with his mouth guard dangling off the edge of his lips against Douglas.

    So who did he duck?

    Again, who is he ducking?

He was 38 years old, off for a full year, showed up at a career high weight and made the other guys face look like this.

So would you say he's feather fisted?

His style does involve grinding opponents down, but he had a quite hard right-hand before his shoulder injury.
