How Good Do You Think Jeff Chandler Was?

Chandler is underrated big time here on the classic. I never here him mentioned among the greatest lighter weight guys. Many of the posters here think im biased for the Mexicanos. Let me tell you i think Joltin Jeff would have out boxed Lupe Pintor.

2 great bantams but management steerd Pintor away from Chandler.


Chandler is definitely a top 10 Bantam.

 

I agree with this Anarci. Pintor is easy for no one but I feel Chandler edges. With his reach and some clinches I think he'd be able to minimize a brutal body attack from Pintor. Not getting that fight left some unanswered questions though. Do you think that victory would've vaulted him towards that upper tier of Bantams?

 

As great as Jeff was, he could have dominated the bantamweights far longer than he did if he'd taken proper care of himself. Unlike most lighter weight champions, making 118 did not ever pose any kind of difficulties for him, and he in fact weighed just over 113 for Lujan. (He could eat like a pig too. It was nothing for him to eat a Big Mac before a weigh-in, then hit the bathroom to relieve himself in order to make weight.)

 

Jeff would've schooled Pintor.

 

Indeed! I have Sanchez narrowly shaving Pedroza, cannot split Chandler and Pintor and have Weaver undoubtably beating Cobb, tho he'd sure have to work and it would be a great stouch.

Don cost us a lot for sure, but he also put together so many barnstormers.

 

I highly doubt the said body shots dramatically shortened his career

 

Nobody is "schooling" peak Pintor i reckon Titan.
