How good does Hayes win v Chisora look now

Haye gets plenty of stick but I loved him. He suffered badly with injuries that really halted his career but I think he's one of the best British fighters of all time. In his prime he would have had given any cruiserweight in history a fight and would have held his own in any heavyweight era as well.

 

Just a shame he ruined his legacy.

 

Thing is Chisora had Haye in some trouble before he was ko'd. It was a real firefight.

Fury wasn't remotely in any trouble at any point.

So I think Fury's win is better as in easier. Although agree this was a shop worn Chisora compared to the one Haye fought.

Del didnt last 5 rounds with Haye. He ended up face down for his troubles. He went MANY rounds with Tyson.

That win has aged better than any win Tyson or AJ have.

 

You didn't read my argument. Fury won at a canter. Chisora did trouble Haye. It's not about number of rounds.

 

I assume you're not taking last night's fight into account? Which was a glorified spar since Fury could've knocked him out in the first round if he followed up on his combination.

I agree that David Haye was an under appreciated fighter. Unfortunately for him his star shone brightest before the golden years of British boxing.

Fury took Chisora's 0 as the underdog lest we forget. Comfortably as well. KO doesn't mean a better performance automatically.

 

But fury did same thing 2014 wrecked him toyed with him

 

I would pick out the points in the fight where Chisora hurt Haye but it's pretty obvious stuff and I can't be bothered.

I'm no Fury fanboy but he's clearly levels above Haye.

 

Yep I generally think winning by toying with someone is more impressive in terms of boxing skill than blasting them out in a firefight.

That said this 3rd fight should never have happened.

 

Chisora was KTFO against Whyte in their rematch as well, don't forget.

 

In terms of legacy, he really shouldn't have taken the Bellew fights. But he got paid well.

 

The Haye Chisora fight was a decade ago.
